After the last patch I've been getting massive lag, so much so that when I find I've died I can't respawn sometimes. If I get to see myself dieng that is, right now I jwas on approach to a ship and...nothing happened. I could still move kind of but i just cruised by him without being able to fire or get fired upon.

Now when I log in I just get my name and lvl, no class or rank distinction, that won't load up. Worse though is that I get stuck at retrieving maps. No server not responding or a time out message. Its just stays there and spins.

And no, I'm not in Europe I'm in California. Any work around for this? This is the first bug I've seen that makes the game unplayable and I've been here since prelaunch. Nice that I had a long run without problems I guess, but I'd just as soon get this one fixed.

Try using the US proxy server setting in the launcher to see if you are having a TCP port issue, that will tunnel the game play traffic in TCP 80 to the Cryptic proxy server located in the same Data Center network.

If that doesn't address it we should look at your network adapter driver, your software firewall, your wired or wireless connection, your router / modem, and your ISP.

Thanks for the hand. Turns out it was a comcast issue, even though they assured me previously it wasn't on thier end. Seems there was some neighborhood work going on and something or other got jury rigged together. Basically, I could log on but it was like being on dial up speed, hence the lag and lack of loading.

Just bad timing it all went down on patch day.

I bet your packet loss was horrendous, glad it's sorted out.
