This has all been said before I know I'm mainly just venting but... Tonight all I've played were pvp matches with no opponents or full teams vs 1 opponent. Its not just FvK or KvK its all matches. Also, matches were if its not going well people bail, which seems to be the most common. The last one can be fixed easy by adding a timed penalty preventing queuing up for pvp matches for 30-60min after abandoning a match.

15 min should be enough as a deterrent.

Disagree. I've entered matches on Kling and Fed side that had no opponents, even after 5 minutes. I won't be subject to a penalty for leaving those matches early. If they somehow implemented code that would disregard this, sure, no problem, but it sounds a little tricky.

Queues have problems, but I don't see this as a viable alternative.

No one should be allowed to leave a match once it begins. Period. Disconnect shenanigans can be dealt with by throwing them right back into that game...

You don't learn to get better without taking some lumps...

Precisely. I think the penalty for leaving a PVP match early should be a 24 hour debuff that keeps you from entering PVP. Of course, this system would have safeguards against accidental computer problems and people alt-ctrl-deling out of the game by attaching the person's account to that PVP encounter, so once back on the game they can either rejoin the battle or stare at a nice screen that says "Waiting for PVP encounter to finish".

I think it really depends on the time of day your playing, there can be lots of people on to give a decent population but when there’s a few people on I have found a number of times that PvP can unbalanced, great if your on the population side but if your 1 ship going against a gang of 5 ships (or same on ground) then you dont stand a chance really any real life space ship would get of the system and that’s just what most players do.

In short you cant give some one a spank because they leave a PvP match, as they could have server connections or game crashes in addition to leaving.

The answer is that there should NEVER be more than +1 on the opposing team

and... if there is a huge difference in population on one side getting in then theres no reason why a lkingon or Fed cant be brought in to help the low population team.

    15mins is enough.

24 hours, while I like the idea, is going to be too much for those players who might have had an issue (i.e. bug) or some sort of other problem that was not their fault.

rofl....and if those players who never pvp'd till RA, gets stomped by 5 reds, what are they learning?

Oooooh...that pvp Q is broken. Spawn kills are exciting. There are no stun/hold resist/immunity. Get 2 shot by tact (w/ no exposes), locked down by science, disabled/rooted by engineers. The match is taking forever because of the 40 kills. (can only kill 1 player so fast). Ur personal shield doesn't want to regen, or is bugged and not showing. The single blue team member is TRIBBLE to death. So the list goes on. Aaaaand what did this player learned, that the red team will most likely win 40-0.

However this is rarely the case as there are many more Feds that Q in at RA, and more likely it would be the single red team member versus the full blue team. But even a player who has pvp'd up to BG knows 40 kills in a ground match will take forever, and would not be enjoyable in anyway being rolled by the full blue team. Better to leave and find a match that is in progress or where the Q 'd in team are some what even.

If the player isn't enjoying the moment, why stay? why should the player conform to other player's rules? why should a player listen to another player at all? Only TRIBBLE blame one side, and don't look at it from all angles, lots of TRIBBLE on both sides.

Yea except that it put me in a ground pvp match ALONE where I waited for 10 minutes and no one showed up. If I had to bail and then wait another 15 minutes I'd probably need to club a baby seal to ease my irritation. Why do you hate baby seals so much?
