This is only affecting Europe, so they don't really care.
Were this affecting America they'd take it down in Euro peak time if necesarry.

ever thought they do care and it is actually not with thier stuffs, but an inner connect or an outside party that is causing the issue?
most companies that offer login ability to a server state side use/acquire terms of agreements and use by local companies and satellite providers to get the info to you.
cryptic does not own the line to you, so stop blaming them 100% since it could be a number of other issues outside thier control.

If they let people play and log on from Europe (and there are a lot of us), perhaps they are not responsable for the lag but they are obligated to search where the problem lies. What disturbs me the most is the fact that (from Europe perspective) this problem has been here the whole day, people made tickets, and there is not even one little announcement on the website. Just a simple note that the problem is known and that they are working on it, at least gives me as player the feeling things are looked into. Now you just feel like nothing is happening.

We are aware of certain patching and connectivity problems that are currently affecting many players. Our team is working hard to investigate and resolve this issue as quickly as possible. Please refer to Coderanger's post here for more information.

This thread is being moved to the PC & Technical Support forum. Patching and connectivity issues are better addressed there than in the Gameplay Bugs forum.

Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue!

Not true. I've been experiencing the same issues over the past couple of hours in Southwestern USA. Extreme lag, rampant disconnects, locking up and disconnecting from server on load screens etc. The web site also seems to be crawling. Everything else is fine.

    i can understand this.
but as a preson who has been in a similar position, dealing with a response and all the incoming calls takes time from troubleshooting the problem.
many times i chose to not answer the phone or email since it interferred with me solving it and the issue is then prolonged.
there are many things people want answers to, among them this.
suffice to say, they do read the boards and are more then likely looking into the issue, but even simple acknowledgment sometimes is not enough. more so when all cryptic can do is make calls and wait for the third party companies to troublshoot and get back to them.

learn to read and comprehend prior to a response...
i said it may be an outside issue.
i never said it was "all" out of thier hands...

i for one am not having ANY issues, with the game or site...thus it leads to another issue, and one culprit may be a third party suppling links to cryptic that is causing the issue...

grow up next time you reposnd. and educate yourself on how the world works and runs...you may be surprised to know you know very little compared to what you think you know.

Excuse me! You might try to think this through before you stick up for them. This is what's been happening:
    1. Players report problems, such as severe lag and repeated disconnects.
    2. Players seem to think it is only affecting Europeans, and they report that on the forums.
    3. Someone from Cryptic starts a thread where he says its being caused by and ISP in Europe. But it seems to be affecting people from many different countries. Including the US!
    4. Some People connect to Other MMO servers, from Europe and the US, and are NOT having the issues they are with STO.
AND YOU WANT US TO BELIEVE CRYPTIC? Are you stupid? Or just not paying attention?

I read about this and decided to "check it out" for myself. Things seemed fine for a while... Then I logged on to my Klingon character and there are all these people complaining. After which I got disconnected. And when I logged back in, my character wasn't even in the same spot. After which I'm almost immediately disconnected.

My point is that when they (Cryptic representatives) tell us things that are contradictory with clearly observable facts. It's completely normal for us to doubt, nay outright disbelieve, what they are telling us! And as I've observed in another post, Trust and Credibility are valuable assets that cannot be purchased by ANY media campaign. If they destroy those things they are gone! And the result will be that they will loose subscribers, because most of us don't like being lied to by anyone. (You of course are an obvious exception, and there is always an exception to every "rule".)

    Gotta say...I totally agree.

I would rather here; "We don't know what the problem is, but we're working on it."

instead...we get a bs 'update' about ISP issues? Because everyone in the EU has the same ISP? In 20+ countries? Really? Think about that for a second. It doesn't even make sense. 52 states in the union don't even have a sole ISP...

It's really simple. What do the people online, who CAN access the game, have in common? Work from there. Wow. IT 101....

    just do the community a favor...either;

    a) stop assuming, or

    b) stop lying.

    pick one.

Or c) try to educate users about how packet routing on the internet works. Check my sticky thread for more info if you are actually interested in the answer and aren't just trolling.

Good luck with that. If you manage it, I have a pig that I would rather like to be able to sing, and you might be able to help out.

Actually pigs are fairly intelligent creatures, with enough training I'm sure you could get it to sing. It won't be The Doctor but I'm sure it'll be better than most of those American Idle wannabes.
