Can we get some PvP "Achievements"? In-game, please, not Steam, since not all of us are running the game through Steam.
For example:
(The game should track how many times you accomplish each of these things and display it in your info somewhere)
* Won a space battle
* Won a ground battle
* Dealt more damage than anyone else and didn't die once
* Dealt more healing than anyone else and didn't die once
* Dealt more damage AND healing than anyone else and didn't die once
* Defeated the enemy by double in space (15-7 or better)
* Defeated the enemy by double on ground (40-20 or better)
* Won 15-0 in space
* Won 40-0 on ground
* Disintegrate someone
* Kill someone with melee
* Win a match using nothing but a bat'leth or [insert_melee_weapon_here]
Try not to make any "silly" achievements. We don't need "most deaths" or "lost 0-40" to encourage people in the wrong direction.
Achievements are always good to have since they provide something to shoot for. They are extra cool to have if they provide extra bonuses, like uniform options and the like...but even without they are still fun and give you something to aim for when bored.

You can definitely look to a World of Warcraft type model for achievements. Some of them are asinine, but others are marks of badassery. Also, it gives the devs leeway to give out perk type things...to get the perks...you have to play...see where I am going?
Also, about leaderboards - great idea, but what would you base it off of? I do not like the WoW arena model, and thats the only real model I can think of that is even slightly leaderboard-like. I could see something like rated matches coming around, but individual ratings. So if you get your rating to a gazillion by working with a team, but have the pvp skills of a head of lettuce, it shows in the matches you fight outside of that team.
All for this with the caveat that it is like Medals in real life. Doesn't do much to make you even more badass than you already are, but does tell the world..
He is indeed a Badass. Look at all the Medal of Honor, Queen's Cross, and Silver stars he's got.

Cheevos would be nice. I don't think we need a leaderboard or arena quite yet, but cheevos that other players could easily view would be awesome. Say what you will about WoW, but their system gives you hundreds of different goals to shoot for (and ways to brag), and implementing something similar would add some fun flavor to STO in PVP and PVE.
"Honourless Dogs" - Have the entire federation team immobilized with subnucleonic beam and viral matrix within the same 30 second block.
"Is the parking brake off?" - Be hit by Viral Matrix and subnucleonic beam within 30 seconds of spawning.
"Resistance is futile" - Be defeated in a capture and hold without ever reducing the enemy's score
"Today is a good day to die" - Be defeated in a PVP without ever scoring a kill
"I'm a Doctor, Not a Dragonslayer" - Top healing and lowest damage in space.
"I'm a Doctor, Not a Counterinsurgent" - Top healing and lowest damage on ground.
"Resistance is futile" - Be defeated in a capture and hold without ever reducing the enemy's score
"Today is a good day to die" - Be defeated in a PVP without ever scoring a kill
Those are two of the ones I definitely don't want to see. They're easy to get -- you just spawn in and don't do anything so your team loses...badly.
I'd rather reverse it and say:
"Resistance is futile" - Win a capture and hold without the enemy ever reducing your team's score
"Today is a good day to die" - Achieve a K/D ratio of 15:1 or better on any map
Some people really like these things. I'll support this as long as it never leads to tags for people playing poorly. People lose matches in wow for this TRIBBLE and throw the game for people honestly trying to play.

I just made them up so the first two wouldnt look like i was slagging the klingon team in PVP for their SB/VM spamming tactics.

So I support this idea.
