I would love to get it working before my free 30 days expires, SO PLEASE HELP ME!
Until the Dxdiag or additional information we don't have anything to work forward with, is this running on a system with an integrated video chipset or a dedicated video card? The dxdiag will give us that and much more.
Updating my graphics card is currently not an option, My internet is going so slow its hard enough getting onto the website, And anyway, It cant be my graphics card, it should atleast start patching.
I was in beta, figured I'd give Cryptic a couple of months to get the worst of the bugs ironed out as the game was nowhere even close to being in a state polished enough for a full release, subbed on Saturday and the launcher crashed my pc.
I ordered through Steam, assuming it would be the most stable platform to patch and load in through, because Cryptic's patcher has stunk from early beta right through to release and beyond, obviously this wasn't the case, I cancelled the subscription immediately and sent a ticket for a refund (assuming the 30 days open on my account isn't the pre-order 30 days)
If I see $15 deducted from my account on my next statement I will be issuing a charge-back through Visa and I'd encourage anyone else in the same position to do likewise.
Mine also crashes when I try to engage the launcher. It will open up and start to load then it will give me an error that says that a fatal error occured
Tech details: ./piggs/bins.hogg:Bin/Powersubtargetcategories.Bin:
Error decompressing data. Varifying files in the launcher may fix this issue.
this has happened after opening the launcher and after patching the game every time.
I have windows Vist home and I downloaded from the web site without using the bit torrent.

Try deleting the file
Fatal Error: Error decompressing data
Delete the file reported in the technical details - delete the file reported and let the launcher patch it. This may take some time to download.
In the example below you would delete texture3.hogg.
Fatal Error: Error decompressing data. Verifying Files in the launcher may fix this issue.

This is a product not fit for purpose.
Okay Thanks alot, ill be sure to cancel my subscription, its a shame i can not get a refund on the game... But anyway perhaps i will reinstall it later in the year when more bugs are ironed out.
The crash is originating from "NVCPL.dll" which does point pretty strongly at your drivers. Looks like the entry point from my code is NvGetDisplayInfo.

NVCPL is the DLL for the Nvida Control Panel, not real sure why thel;auncher would have issues with this.
At any rate, a reboot generally clears these right up.
I went ahead and uninstalled and trying to reinstall the game to see if that clears it up, if I continue to have the issue I will try deleting that file if I can find it and see if that will clear it up, thanks for the help. Or I will try to get the install CD from the person who gave me the 10 Day free pass, working on day 5 of trying to get it downloaded.

Version issue perhaps? the driver is from 2008.
