What Happen to my old Ship

well I'm new to sto and still have my first ship
but I wonder what will happen when I change ship?
will it just disappeared like that?

if it's the case that once you change ship the old one vanish I think it's a sad thing.
well if it does go to some one else that I don't know then that's not great either

here is my idea I think once you move on to an other ship you should recommand one of your bridge officer to take command of it and automatically it become like an AI fleet ship that fellow you any where.

I'm just saying this because some mission I have to do I was alone against lots of enemy (I don't event talking about PvP)

what you think? should we have AI Fleet Member?
should Your old ship still in the game? (that is if it's not the case already)

No, the ships will not dissapear. When at a starbase, you can change ships, or decommission them.

So in other words, your ships are safe :)

Nobody. They sit in your garage.

Nobody. They just wait in Spacedock for you to come back and take them for a spin.

No one does, they are in "storage" until you want to change ships again.

You cannot at this time give command of any old ships to any of your Bridge Officers, only you can fly the ships...

Don't you all think is a bit stupid for a ship to just stand there when we at war.

I mean come on most of the time i need support and if it wasn't for the auto team up i wouldn't finish some mission.

I know you can join fleet but I'm a newbie and I'm doing mission that most people done it long before a who would wast his time helping a newbie except another newbies

There are people out there that will help you if you need help, just ask. It might take a little while but someone might help you out. There's plenty of people playing.

As for the ship thing. It would be good to have them flying in support as a mini AI controlled fleet. But I think that's a long way off from being implemented, if they do it at all. I don't think its going to be something they look at doing any time soon. As you progress you get bigger and better ships, so those others become outclassed.

If they let your old ships be a part of an "AI Fleet" .... I want Multi-Vector Assault Mode.

Yep, I needed a 5-minute assist on one mission and a complete stranger I met on DS9 kindly helped me through it. People in game I've met are generally really friendly.

It might be interesting if, as an Admiral, you could assign one of your bridge officers to command your stored ships...

One thing - be sure NOT to decomission your starter ship (Miranda, etc.) because you CANNOT get it back. The others you can buy again if you have to, but the starter ship is gone once it's gone.
