cannot connect with STO

when i am clicking the STO icon on my desktop to launch the game i am getting a box saying 'trying to update launcher, please be patient' then im getting a patcher error saying 'a file was locked that could not be open for writing'

it has been working fine since i got it last week, not all of a sudden this. do i need to reinstal it or is there another solution as id hate to have to patch it all again.

    as obvious as it may sound makesure there are no other instances of "star trek online.exe" or gameclient.exe running in task manager

    its possible your antivirus is getting in the way it may be trying to scan the files at the same time as the games patching this could cause files to become locked especialy if it has a scan on access feature try disabling your AV or at least add the STO install folder to the exclusions list for at least the scan on access, you may want to create a seperate job to scan the STO folder

    if your using vista\win7 makesure windows defender isnt scheduled to run and scanning the STO folder

    Right click the STO icon and choose Run as administrator to run the game with admin rights (independent of your admin login to the computer).
