this is getting old. i had a HDD failure (unrelated to STO) and had to replace it. Now that i have everything restored my game client crashes every single time i load into the game, normally before i actually make it into the game some rare times i get into the game for at most 5 minutes. i have let it transmit the data to cryptic. the most current error ticket ID is 10296724.
i have also opened a ticket but have yet to get a response. It's really frustrating that it wont tell me if their is anything on my end that is configured wrong and that i cant get any response about it. can anyone at Cryptic help me out?
luckily my laptop plays STO perfectly so i can still get in my play time but my desktop is where i would like to play.
Please post the crash error information, we do not have access to the ticket. If you do not know the crash error, look in the STO directory for log files with date and time stamps that match the last time it crashed and copy paste all of those lines in the logs that match the date and time (time is in GMT, not local).
ok i looked at the logs (didn't know these where there!) looks like its a CRC error that is causing the issues. So its either my new HDD or my DVD-Writer. thanks for the help. Gonna try a Digital install and see if that helps.

See if the dev post a few responses down (moving files to another folder) addresses the issue for you.
