Re-finding Mission Locations

This is really puzzling me... I have 3 or 4 missions that I for one reason or another I didn't complete right away and now wish to go back and complete them. Problem is the information I am showing for each isn't enough to tell me which system or sector they are in. The say (as an example) "Planet S-A 774" or "Facility Omega Nu X Patrol"... nothing on the maps like those listed, nothing in library computer, and when I check my captain's log it says the same thing (Planet S-A 774 etc). I am really stumped and must be over-looking something obvious? Any help appreciated. (BTW I am not asking where those locations are exactly, more I want to know HOW to re-find mission locations for future reference). Thanks in advance.

Those sound like exploration missions. I'd probably be better if you drop those missions unless you want to visit each nebula again.

If they are Exploration cluster mission you will need to go back to the appropriate Exploration region (like Hromi cluster, Aefhirr Nebula etc) and after you are there for a short time the prompt to re-enter the mission should appear on the lower right side of your screen.

How to find the right Exploration region is of course the next question. If you still have the Main mission it should appear in your short list under your mini map as a Bullet and sub-bullet, the pending mission name will be underneath(?):

    • Explore Aefhirr Nebula
    • Explore systems (1/3)
    • Search Pi Crateris Facility XX-425
    • Investigate underground facility

Edit: just tested it and it appears immediately under it as shown above with mission objectives as a sub-heading. So the mission above is to "Investigate underground facility" within "Search Pi Crateris Facility XX-425" system map inside the Exploration region "Aefhirr Nebula"
