Random Computer Crashes During Combat

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
My computer has randomly and instantaneously shut off during combat on some varied missions, both during away team missions and space combat.

My specs are
AMD Phenom X4 9850 (Overclocked but runs extremely cool)
AMD ATI Radeon HD 4890 (GPU and memory Overclocked to 1ghz but runs in the 30s)
windows 7

This didn't start occurring until march started and we got some of these new patches.

Another thing that occurred after the latest patches was that when away from the ship, the game starts to see tremendous visual lag (I play crysis on highest settings at 1600x1200 at 60fps, so this shouldn't be happening)

I'm assuming it is due in part to the AMD architecture and that the game must have recently been optimized to more effectively run on intel, which in turn somehow effected it's optimization on AMD systems. Could be wrong, might be overflow or memory leak.

Not a blue screen but a complete power shutdown as if someone unplug the power cord?

What brand and model power supply are you running?

Still having the issues, it now occurs regardless of what I'm doing, while looking through exchange, grafting, pvp, etc.
