Cross Teaming

Recently while playing Fed in Ground combat, I found a Fed engineer who was actively working for the Klingon team. He would close off doorways with shields to keep fed players from escaping, as well as actively running with the Klingons with impunity. When I brought it up in /zone, he claimed to be in Sctr 31 and 'wasn't there'. Nice bit of roleplay, but the question here is should this be permissable? After all, it unbalances the teams when they get around to being 5v5. And, of course, the cross teamer is completely safe. We can't shoot him as he's in our faction, we can't pass through the barriers he errects. If he decides to rez us so his friends can get repeated easy kills there is nothing we can do to stop that either. Doesn't that sound fun...constantly being rezzed and disintegrated.

This isn't a 'Fed V Klingon' thread; a Klingon player can do this as well, thus throwing off the dynamic for the Klingon side. I submitted a ticket and was told that 'switching alliances' was ok, but this obviously isn't the case. The Fed didn't go to the Klingon side, he remained Fed. Perhaps I didn't word my ticket properly and gave them the wrong idea, I dunno. But, the ticked DID say to discuss this on the forums so, discuss.

was he attackable by you? or showing up as on your team? We've seen severals Feds do this and pretty sure we know how they are doing it. Roy, the boldest of them even said in chat that he gets double reward for doing it.

However when tickets are put in to report them, useless GM's dont bother reading it and think we're typical pvp whiners. Guess we'll have to youtube it like I did getting shot thru walls.

We put these exploiters on our ignore list so we can see when their online.

Nope, completely unattackable. He registered as being on my side.

I kind of give the GMs some slack, what with all the tickets they have to wade through, many of which ARE whines. But not to much slack...afterall, it IS their job.

My guess is it's probably a guild doing this, and coordinating in vent or other voice program. Contact me in game Digglez if you need any help with that vid.

most of the ones we've seen were antisocial power gamers. they were out for themselves, not to help a guildee level faster or get more reward

if you are doing ground combat for an extended period, keep fraps ready.

But i see it would be easy to if that fed and those klingons are actually real friend or guild mates. the Klingons don't fire at him and he does all he can to help the Klingons win. I have met some guilds that have rules like you can not fight your guildmates even their characters on the other side.

You did the right thing in reporting them to the GM, because that's griefing. Too bad Griefing is quickly becoming a wide spread issue for STO.
