I have also been getting this notice as I am zoning sometimes. Eventually though, it will start loading again though. I haven't had a disconnect or freeze up.

    Hi,

Am getting 'server not responding' quite frequently. Started perhaps 3-4 days ago. some missions are virtually unplayable as a consequence

wasted a good hour trying to get on again tonight, even tried adding port forwards, disabling firewalls etc, like it should matter being it worked fine earlier, but when i actually get time to play (night) i cant even hope to get on, or if finally get in its a short lived thing till i get booted. Wondering what the point is right now, i have had at least as much time i couldn't get in this game as time i have been able to get in, the "head start" i had maybe a total of 4-6 hours i could get in the game and then barely do anything at that and since then it got better but this is stinking of the head start again.

Played the last 4 nights without issue. Got the error (twice while transitioning) but lasted about 2 seconds. Don't consider that an issue though.

I haven't been able to successfully log on this past week, despite numerous attempts. My 30-day "free trial" expires next week, and I've maybe been able to play for 3 hours. I'm seriously considering cancelling my 3-month subscription before the trial ends.

I'm just relieved I didn't splurge for the lifetime subscription.

I've gotten the "server not responding" message quite a bit the past two days - usually when I am doing the new borg mission , but only on the last part preparing to fight the boss. Sometimes my machine locks up to render the game unplayable - and letting my group mates down. I've run every diagnostic I can think of and it is not with my machine (I far exceed the recommended capabilities with my desk top), or with my ISP. Suggestions?

Almost EVERY Time I change maps I get the "Server Not Responding" message at the Loading Screen. Yes! Eventually it goes away and I am able to successfully make the transition. But it really bothers me! It makes me wonder if Cryptic is lying about bringing new servers online... Or is their Server Ops team just really that bad?

I guess I'll call Cryptic on Monday morning and complain. Doesn't normally do much except make me feel a bit better, from actually getting to complain to a real person instead of on the Forums where no one pays attention.

I've had "Server Not Responding" issues (and I mean major issues) ever since the Thursday patch, along with occasional disconnects... Huge rubber-banding and who knows what-not as I'm flung around into walls and such or wake up inside them. I often can't take a step without seeing the message flash. Yesterday, it took me some twenty minutes to dock at Spacedock -- it was so comical I cried, or so sad that I laughed.

I didn't see a lot of recent talk around here on this problem, so I just figured it was my connection. Now I'm not so sure (I guess if the message read "Server Not Found", then I'd know not to blame the mean ol' server for being soooo unresponsive).

Anyway, it's finally driven me back to playing some other game (at least for now). The thought of logging in to STO makes me feel like I'd be plunging hot pokers into my eyes.

Unfortunately, I have been having this error since the beta-test. It does make the game unplayable which is the main reason why I almost never play this game. I am really starting to wish I didn't pay for the life-time membership. I constantly get server not responding errors during ship mode. Also the ship will jump around like crazy when I am trying to move it or during combat. MAkes it extremely difficult and annoying to do anything. I think there is a good reason why this game is rated so low now. They should have beta-tested this thing for at least another six months to correct these problems.

i am still having problems here.
missions are not playable because i had to restart all the time.
even hailing starfleet makes the server not responding.

I am over run by this when I am on an open instance. Then I am kicked off the team and must start over again and again and again. Up to 12 times I have had to restart a mission due to Disconnected from server. Usually it is about four time to get the mission done. This has been increasing over the last month to six times. My kids are just getting frustrated and don't want to do any more open instances.:(

This morning I had no problem whatsoever. After today's update, the mission at Starbase 24 went into a loop. I can't seem to leave it! I logged out and logged in about an hour after this. After a few minutes the connection seems to be lost. Is it a buggy server or is it another problem?

There is something seriously wrong with the server today. Global DC'ing and HUGE lag/rubberbanding. Some major server side issues going on.

Agree. 4 disconnections in 20 minutes ground-fight with the away-team.

But tracert (from germany) says, all is okay so far?

The "retrieving charakter" message is up much to long again.

All this appeared weeks ago and I thought it's solved now.

But the last patch seems to go in the wrong direction and make some important very worse now:(

If you conenct via the eu-proxy, turn proxy off. I did that and was at least able to connect to the game again.

Its not your connection....they messed things up badly....in Europe whe are lagging all over the place.getting on the official star trek website takes 10 minutes...loading and all...after the recent patch its FUBAR..!!
And placing some more dedi servers in the US,Asia and Europe would be nice......Thats all.

for those people still in the game nothing is wrong, but for us we cannot get passed ether the patch loader or the screen that loads map lists,

My problem is not so much getting into the game. Though I do get the "getting the list of maps" thing... My issue, I would guess, is that the Map Server is having trouble keeping up. So when I go to transition from one map to another - it always gives me this "Server Not Responding" message at the loading screen.

What some of you are describing is something causing some disconnects. And you might need to call tech support and get them to send you the Nettest information. I called up this morning to get an Endpoint IP for a proper traceroute diagnostic test. But they gave me the royal run around. It's like they are paranoid I'll use my botnet to conduct a DoS attack on the servers... Then again, the "Tech Support" service is obviously outsourced, because they don't even have "supervisors", and you can't get any real information out of them.

Yeh, I'm experiencing Retrieving List of Maps rage as I type this.

Constantly getting "Connection Timed Out", my internet is fine, 10mb fibre optic running smoothly, every other page on the web loads up instantly but any of the STO pages, ie forum, home page & support take 3 weeks to appear.

We must be stored on a dodgy rack, because a friend of mine has absolutely no log in issues atm.

We are aware of certain patching and connectivity problems that are currently affecting many players. Our team is working hard to investigate and resolve this issue as quickly as possible. Please refer to Coderanger's post here for more information.

This thread is being moved to the PC & Technical Support forum. Patching and connectivity issues are better addressed there than in the Gameplay Bugs forum.

Hi, i was happily playing today when server not resonding hit !
then i had issues that my credentilas were not right.
now i can log in but it just hangs on Retrieving Maps.

i am getting really fed up with this.

can someone tell me what is going on?

in fact, anything relating to star trek online just takes a hell of a time to respond, even posting this message took some time.
i play CSS, Fallout 3, L4D2 etc dont have any problems there.
