Ships no longer "Warp in"?

I've noticed in the past day or so that when my ship "enters" a system, I don't get the visual effect of it dropping out of warp - it just shows up.

Yesterday I updated my video drivers to 196.75 - before this started happening my ship would flash briefly on the screen, but then it would disappear, and then drop out of warp like it should have.

But now, I don't get that effect any more - my ship is just "there" when I enter a system.

I'm running a 1 GB GTS 250 on Windows 7 64-bit, for what it's worth.

Good news - on Tribble, the test server, the dropping out of warp effect was working perfectly - there wasn't even the brief "flash" of the ship before the effect.

This happens to me too. Maybe 3 out of 10 times it displays properly.

This is not a video card driver specific issue. This is game specific. It started immediately after last patch for me. I'm on dual ATI Radeon 5870 CrossfireX.

I noticed this too. Also, I have an advanced escort and sometimes the saucer section is mission for a bit. :D

I have noticed this issue as well for some time. I actually really liked the "dropping from warp" effect as it was a nice cinematic effect.

I've seen mention of patches that fix this, but I still have the issue everywhere except when coming to the Sol system for some reason (it works perfectly, every time there).

Is this still wide-spread, or do I have something wrong on my end?

it appears to be wide-spread accross dozens of computers and hundereds of characters.

i'm sure they'll fix it eventually, but it's probably not a "high priority" problem at this time.

I have this issue as well. To fix it, and every other new graphics issue that has cropped up after the last few patches, is to turn the graphics down to the low settings.
