is there any way to lock the camera in space action so that you don't have to turn the camera everytime you turn your ship

I believe I read in the Engineering Report forum that the Devs are looking at making a "Follow Cam" mode. Right now the only option you have is the "Look at Target" which is toggled on and off using "X" key.

Trying to fly your ship and having to change the camera location at every turn is a true hassle. if i cant have a joystick for the flight mode then al least give me a camera lock so that i can at least see where i am going all the time.

I bound "numpadenter" to "reset camera". Simply hitting that key now resets the camera behind the ship.
Not a perfect solution, but something to help while they add a follow camera mode

If I don't have a target, my camera follows my ship. Once I lose a target, it resets to a follow mode after a few seconds.

Check your options. Maybe you toggled something there.

Edit: Duh. I figured it out. I left it on "Target camera". If I have no target selected, I am the target that the camera follows. You obviously don't want "Target following".

I are smart. Yes, I are.
