Best place to find mark VI gear??

Hey everyone - so I've hit commander and I know I can equip up to mark VI gear on my cruiser at my current rank. Is there a good place to find some? So far I haven't seen any from vendors, and for some reason I have no "level 3" exploration missions, so I can't get those points (if someone has a good way to get to those missions, please tell me! :-) )

Does anyone have a good place to go for mark VI gear? I think I have enough energy credits to get a few items.

Thanks!!

You can get the standards (Impulse Engine, Shield, Deflector, Phasers, Photons) at DS9, over in the Beta Ursae Sector Block. :)

I know the feeling; I've hit Commander myself just yesterday and am eager to upgrade my new ship. :D

Thanks for the response! I'll head over there today.

Check out the Exchange. For common stuff, it is often far cheaper on there. Also, the opposite can be true for rare/uncommon items. FWIW. I buy the regular stuff all the time there because some people discount it upwards of 50% of the "MSRP".

Cool! Yeah, I'll check it out on the exchange. Although I guess to get the green/rarer options I would need to buy it at DS9.

No, you can buy the green, purple, and blue stuff at the Exchange, too. It usually is expensive, though.

I don't know if this is entirely true. The even Mk stuff (II, IV, VI, etc) is usually way overpriced on the exchange because you need it if you get into crafting.

Just my experience. Everything I have bought in the Exchange has been discounted (unless it has been green or higher). YMMV :)

This is true, a lot of commons go for 100k because they're the optimal mats for reaching the next tier of NPCs in Memory Alpha.

Try the Exploration quests. You get:

    - 75 Badges of Exploration per Exploration Mission hand-in

    - Between 475 Skill Points and 600+ Skill Points per hand-in, with space missions netting you more than ground

The missions are very quick, plus you get to choose what type of weapon or item you want. So if you're flying a Cruiser for example, and you're specced into Phasers, you can slap six Phaser beam arrays on your ship, buy a couple +Phaser Tactical consoles and immediately have some nasty DPS.

    +1

This is true. I got some kind of weapon with a 45 degree targeting arc that I knew I'd never use and sold it for 200K on the Exchange :D. Good advice for the OP, TPJ.
