I recently upgraded to a new hard drive. I installed my OS and all drivers, etc... I then proceeded to install STO from a fresh download. The game installed fine, I could log in, but then get stuck with a Server Not Responding message.

This is what I needed to do to get it to work properly:

Copy the complete program file for STO from the old hard drive to the new hard drive.

I have opened a ticket on this because my concern is, what will happen if the old hard drive cannot be accessed due to corruption for example?

I would not be able to play STO? UNACCEPTABLE!

I ran into this as well and it turned out the default firewall settings were causing the problem.

Trying temporarily turning off your firewall and see if you can connect to see if that is the root of the problem.

Just moved from W7 RC to W7 retail in the last week (had the box since launch!) and bought a new hard drive to make it easier so it was a complete fresh install.
Didn't have any problems at all, I just installed from the DVD, launched, patched and played.

I suspect it's more related to your new install (e.g. like the firewall note above) than the STO client.

I also thought maybe the firewall had something to do with it, so I disabled it, and still had the same problem. I'm good to go now though. I just wanted to make people aware of this, so if they experience it they may have some where to start.

So if you're good to go... would you mind sharing your solution (incase anyone stumbles on the same problem?).

    :)
