PvP Queues keep resetting

The PvP queues keep resetting to 0/0 queued, dumping everyone that's been waiting and forcing us to all re-queue. Sometimes this means gettign lucky and gettign a match rather quickly. Most of the time however, it's making what used to take 30+ minutes turn into an 60+ minute waits.

I know I'm not the only one that saw this problem today, as several folks in the multiple groups I was in were talking about it.

Yeah I've noticed this problem as well, not all the time, but often enough to be a pain when it does.

Filed a bug report on it today. Was sitting in sector space above a system doing nothing, just watching the PVP queue window and telling people about tribble breeding in chat. Watched the queue reset (from 4 feds and 5 klingons waiting on a 5v5 map) without any invite or notification that I failed to respond. That was the second time in a row and made me realize the first time wasn't my mistake.

I noticed this issue myself and found out that everytime you zone (load if you like), your PvP ques reset. So once you que, dont move anywhere that makes you zone out of a place. But this bug MUST be resolved cause i found it very odd to see so few players, 23 feds i recall, qued for CP where there used to be over 100.

Happened to me too, I took screenshots. I was sitting in Borg space, with the PvP Queues window open, waiting to make sure this was actually happening. It happened several times, actually. Join a queue or three, wait a bit, they all reset. Here are the screenies:

    Full Queues at 2:31 http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/1558/screenshot2010030502312.jpg

Five minutes later, at 2:36, queues have been reset. Some people have already jumped on the top two. http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/8625/screenshot2010030502360.jpg

Of course, this is ground only, no idea what happens with space maps.

Devs have noted a bug where if you zone out of the area you joined the queue, you don't get a prompt to join. This is a new bug that can happen even if you're sitting still in the same location the whole time.

Yep, this bug happens when just staying in one place for the entire wait time.

Dstahl was generous enough to provide feedback on this issue when asked about it in the Engineering report:

Part of the problem here is that there is a bug in that when you join a queue, the pop up does not display if you leave the map where you joined the queue. We're testing fixes for that and hope to get that addressed. A nice "chime" is a great suggestion that I'll forward to the sound guys.

So there's our answer. :) It's good that it's at least acknowledged as a needed fix, and I like the idea of a distinct sound alert for a ready slot. My choice would be the comm alert whistle (like this one) to call attention to all hands when the Bridge makes a shipwide announcement.

This is not the same issue we're discussing here. This discussion is about a new issues where the queue itself is completely resetting and dumping EVERYONE. The issue you're quoting only happens to some people and ALWAYS gives that "failed to respond" message.

As several of us have pointed out on both that old issue and this new one, they both happen even if you never move, change zone or tab out of the game. In other words, standing in one spot on the base where you queued up, or parking your ship in the same place in the system or sector space zone where you queued up.

Even with having my PvP queue window open, that old issue would sometimes not give the join button at all. Meaning neither the pop-up nor the button in the queue window. Also, that issue only applied to 1 queue at a time, not ALL queues at once.

This new issue is all queues resetting as if the server handling the queue had been rebooted, except that the reset happens too fast for a reboot, so must be some software cause that's making it just dump everyone from all queues. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they tried to make the queue system remove you from all queues when you join a match, but instead of just the players that joined a match it's removing everyone that's in a queue. In any case this is a new issue that's much worse than the previous issue.
