Tactical Team Skill (Question)

I have a few points left within my build to put where I want .. enough to buff up my Tactical Team skill. I did my homework and this skill works well for my build. This is not the question.

The problem is ...I started dropping points into Security and Tactics (2 of the 3 skills that modify Tactical Team space skill) and I am not seeing any "buffing" effect to the stats?
What exactly does security and tactics do to "buff" this skill?

The tooltip says these 3 skills modify Tactical Team space skill (I also read same on several sites)
-Tactical Team Leader
-Security
-Tactics

These are the correct skills to modify Tactical Team space skill... right?

I now have 2 trains in tactics, 2 trains in security, (and 9 trains in tactical team leader from earlier);
The tooltip and description still says +18 projectile/+18 energy weaps.. 30 seconds on the debuffs... and 10km buff range.. and 45 second recharge timer. All are unchanged.

Each time I trained a point I went back and looked.. and none of those stats are raising. Am I missing something? Do I have to invest a TON of points in tactics/security just to get a "tiny" benefit (eventually)?

Another thing I am considering;
Is there hidden buffs going on that I can't read on the description or tooltips?
-Perhaps how many bonus crew I get when i use skill?
-Maybe shorter global cooldown timers on the usage my other "team" related skills? (This would be great)

Before I proceed with "wasting" any more points I need to know whats happening so I do make any more mistakes.

    Are you talking about points on yourself or your BO,s. If you get to leevl 9 on yourself it allows you to train one of your BO,s in that skill to replace another one.

    I think you misread something?

    The BO skill called "Tactical Team" (its a space skill)...it says in the description...
    Attributes which modify the magnitude:
    -Tactical team leader
    -tactics
    -security

    Those 3 skills are my skills ...which modify the tactical team skill (supposedly)...
    When I invest points into those 3 skills I am not seeing any bonus on the Tactical Team skill at all.

    Is this a bug? Or is the description wrong? Or is there a hidden non visible benefit?

    I think you will find that the benefits are calculated in combat. They take you BO,s skill then add in a modifiers during the calcultaions, or that always been my uunderstanding, I have 3 tac consoles giving a total + 64 to torps. When I hover over the different torp tubes it only shows the basic dam but when one hits the enemy takes serious hurt.

    I was kind of disappointed too when I saw that the skill didnt change after skilling security 9 ^^ but my guess would be, the magnitude in this case is the amount of crew being "healed".

    Try reading the tooltip on the main UI when you're sitting in your ship. If you're reading the description of the power when you have the skill menu open, I don't think it takes into account anything else except the 1-9 ranks your BO has into it.

    I noticed this earlier with Medical Tricorder. The Skill page said it healed +67hp then i put a point into Science Team leader. The skill window still said +67hp but the tooltip from the main UI said +73hp.

    I know about stats changing being inside your spaceship vs the ground.

    I also read the stat changes in space on my character sheet after I use the tactical team buff (which is even beyond just reading tooltip in space) As far as I can see there is no "visible" changes for wasting points into security/tactics at all. (for all i know tactical team leader likely doesn't effect it either but I had that skill maxed out already for another skill bonus.. so I could not verify that.)

    I reported the issue to a GM and they forwarded this on my behalf as a bug. My guess is Tactical Team "modified bonus" is not working as intended.

    Perhaps, down the road these currently "wasted" points will sprint into life and give us proper bonus for the skill.

    Oh well.. those last set of points I had to spend anyway to get up to admiral rank so I am not to worried about it.. if I didn't waste them on tactics/security I would have wasted them in some other useless way... I explored all my options at the time I was deciding and all my options were nothing thrilling or game changing for me. Tactics/Security (in my case) was as good of a place as any to gamble on.

    I suppose I spent all my previous points very well up to this point which is why I had so many left over that didn't mean much to me. I was going for a perfect min/max build so it still disappoints me when everything was accounted for perfectly up to this point.

    so does Tactical Team Leader affect Tactical Team space skill or not? does nobody know? I just put 2 points into it and the tooltip didn't change at all. Bug?

    The tricky part with Tactical Team is that the only aspect of it rendered numerically on the tooltip is the bonus to Starship Energy Weapons and Starship Projectiles. Judging from Science Team and Engineering Team, which improve with skill points but do not have their skill bonuses improve, those bonuses are supposed to be static. Where that leaves us is Tactical Team has several effects which are not given in detail which may be affected by skills. I think the most likely thing is that the bonus to your crew levels is increased by putting more points into those skills, since things like "remove debuffs" appear to confer flat immunity (or at least very rapid removal).

    If all you use Tactical Team for is the damage bonus, don't bother investing skill points into improving it. If you like the fact that it "heals" your crew levels, then it could be worth spending some points to improve that part, but you'll have no way of knowing how much it is being improved.
