Most premades are made from pugs to start with (except fleet ones obviously)) they just find a decent group of people and do more instances together.
As i have pvp almost exclusively as Klingon i can tell you that if you ever fight a KDF team you have a good bet that they arnt even grouped. But being the superior peeps that we are... we merely know by instinct what we are doing.
I don't think there are enough people left pvp'ing to support different queues. Maybe once they introduce FvF they'd have enough people but I have a funny feeling that pvp will take a big dive right after that too. So they'd have a large enough pvp population for, what, a week? Not worth the time it would take to program.
There is nothing wrong with queuing solo. There is nothing wrong with queuing as a group.
However, PuGs can not compete with Premades. Period.
Since the above is factual, I am lead to ask why any game designer with an ounce of foresight and empathy would allow Premades to queue against PuGs?
Mercenary PvP is a must and should be a given. Matching up PuGs against Premades is unacceptable and only leads to suppression and abuse.
Odd I was in a Pug today that tore apart a group I know to be a premade on the fed side... I guess the european/ aussie pugs are just better than the usual pugs...
PUG's are the way to meet new people... build friendlists; and have regular groups. After a while you know their play style; and form a synergy. So PUG's are not so bad
What is more annoying...
- you join an instance solo; no one invites you; you invite; they decline... okay
- you join an instance solo; you get invited... but when the match ends; they all disband, you requeue solo, and find again the exact same people (as klingons; our queues are very short, so it's often the same 10-15 people queuing in a tier)
I'd argue that most kling pugs dominate fed premades most times. feds just don't know how to pvp......profs/ staying grpd/ LOS, just too confusing for them.

Thats pretty wrong. I encountered a federation premade several times yesterday while I was just queuing alone and fought in random teams. Ow how they TRIBBLE us everytime - 1 escort, 1 science, 3 galaxy cruisers (my Klingon char is captain lvl atm). Their team worked awesome using extend shields, healing, the escort did take very little damage even when focused fire, and when in critical situation got out of range and healed back to full quickly.
Well but about the initial question, I think it would be nice to queue teams vs. teams and random groups vs. random, I just dont know if this isnt technically too complicated. We have more urgent issues in the game than solving this particular one actually. So if you ask me, I agree with it, but dont see it as much of a problem.
Yes guys, there's always "Those times a PuG beat a Premade", but that supports nothing relevant.
If there is ever a group of similarly skilled players (the ideal PvP situation), then the Premade will defeat the PuG hands down. There is a enormous advantage that comes from the inherent communication and teamwork in a Premade. Which is fine, but should only be matched against others who share that advantage.
I find that knowing to stick together, and understanding how to use my abilities properly, is far more important than whether or not I am in a PUG.
Unless you are talking about fleet teams who use vent or TS to coordinate better, there is no real advantage to premades in my experience; beyond the satisfaction of knowing you have a good team at any rate.
What would be nice would be having a better means of communication. Like a side specific zone chat as well as a public one.
As it is, its hard to talk to team mates unless you are grouped. I often get group invites, but it can be a real frustration to keep having to make groups. Perhaps pug teams could auto join if not already grouped?
Separating premades and pugs would just spread the few pvp players among more queues and make matches harder to get into. The workaround is people creating their random pugs before queuing which still produces the same result, premades vs pugs.

*above may have traces of Klingon propaganda
My experience is that this is less propaganda and more truth. I think it's because Klingon players spend more time PVPing and just know what to do. Grouping makes heals/buffs a little easier, but they're doable without groups. Communication is the biggest advantage to grouping, but quite often, communication isn't necessary because we know what to do.
I recently started working on a Fed alt cause I was tired of T4 queues. I think I'm not the only one because the PVP matches I joined all felt like it was a bunch of klingon alts fighting fed alts.
lol ok, well any fed grp who has ever gone against me and been decimated should know that i am in a pug 97% of the time.
rules for any klingon pug to destroy a fed premade:
1. stay together; if you die find a way around the enemy and get back to the grp.
2. press G or F1 many times while fighting; this either targets an exposed or assists the grp leader.
3. use corners for LOS (LINE OF SIGHT) and to let your shields recharge; do this early and often...we don't need heroes we need klingons to stay alive.

Other than that... pugs are cute

Everyone in a premade already has these traits.
