The 500 skill points were a Pre-Order bonus only.. as such, only available until Feb. 1, 2010.. the game went live on Feb. 2, 2010 officially, as such any game purchased after that date would no longer recieve the Pre-Order bonus.
Also if you followed the Link from the advertisement on the page you claim states 500 Skill Points..
ok, the ADVETISEMENT ON THE STARTREKONLINE HOMEPAGE SAYS: get 500 points instore or online, and when you click it it takes you to a valid page.. maybe you should try looking.. or if you're lazy here's a shortcut copy:

Maybe look at the site before going to the store to buy to make sure the offer is still valid?
This poster is incorrect. I can verify that the copies of the game being sold at Wal Mart still have a sticker saying that they come with 500 skill points.. and they should do so.
The confusion is that the skill points are not C-Store points, which is, what I think both of you are expecting out of this deal. The skill points being offered are the same as "experience points" in another game.
Basically what it means is that you will get a slight head start in leveling up your character.

I hope this makes sense.

Yeah I didn't get mine from Wal Mart.
The copies on the shelves at my local store are still offering the 500 points, though. You should definitely get in touch with support to work this out.
Unfortunately, from what I understand, you might be waiting a month or more before you hear back from them.. and then those 500 points won't mean much of anything to you.

Just sayin.
While I agree in principal, the error is Wal-Mart's. Wal-Mart is suppose to send back those boxes when the promotion is no longer available.
The Pre-Order Promotions ended Feb. 1, 2010.. that is unless that Wal-Mart center still has Pre-Order cards to hand customers with the game purchase.. the Pre-Order bonus is not in the box, but on a card handed separately to the customer who buys STO. the card has the Pre-Order key which gives you the 500 skill points.
Also the skill points are not just to start off, the Skill Point cap is raised by 500 points.
My wife work in the electronics section of Wal-Mart where I live.

No. this particular promotion started after launch. I don't have any proof, but they didn't start advertising it on the STO front page until launch. I remember seeing the ad, seeing it at the store, and it remains on the store boxes to this day.

It was not a preorder thing.
Wierd.. maybe different locations have different rules.. I am just re-iterating what my wife just told me with her location.. the product was discontinued with the 500 Skill Points.
Like I stated, the people in the Electronics department are suppose to supply the Pre-Order (Skillpoint) code card. I would contact them to see if they have them.
I know the location where I live was required to send back the Pre-Order boxes with the 500 skill point sticker on them along with the cards on Feb. 2, 2010. The only boxes they were suppose to keep were for those on their pre-order list. the rest went back to the distribution center for store credit.

It's quite possible that it's a regional deal, but I quite clearly remember this deal showing up on the main page exactly on the day of launch.
Also, the stickers on all the boxes at my store are advertising this offer.
If it was a preorder thing, there would be no boxes with stickers, right? They don't put those boxes out until launch day.. and in my town they may not even do that.

Those boxes should not even be on the shelves.. that is a management error either by the store manager or by the manager of the electronics department.
Those boxes should be behind the cashier's counter awaiting those that pre-ordered to pick up the game. People who pre-ordered should have recieved their pre-order card at time of purchase.
However if that Wal-Mart location has them on the shelves, then their Electronics department should be able to provide the Pre-Order card that unlocks the 500 skill points..

Sorry, Terminator, but it looks like you're wrong in this case.

Wish I would have gone digital and used a site like this one... http://punishretail.com
Next time!

LOL there you go. This deal is still being advertised. Leave it to someone less drunk than me to find the quickest way to the answer to the debate.
Unfortunately, none of this helps the OP with his problem.
LoL its morning here so nice and sober
Sorry, Terminator, but it looks like you're wrong in this case.
Wierd.. if that is the case.. then I'll have my wife grab me a copy of the game, That is once the OP confirms that he got the 500 skill points.
However the guy that posted above stating he has his skill points (which is not the OP).. question is, when did he buy it and did he pre-order?
Morning, NIght? Whatever. It's Miller Time
Hehehe...... I'm more into San Miguel but Miller is a nice smooth drink.... Enjoy!
Miller is nasty stuff. That's not what I'm drinking.
What amazes me is that I'm unable to find a video of Kurt Russell declaring that it's Miller Time from the infamous film "Big Tribble in Little China"
LoL.. I have a lot of Tribble with google myself
I came here trying to figure out how to get the points and with help from thread I figured it out.
They ARE in the C-Store
After you open the C-Store hit the "Special Unlocks" tab and the points package will be in there.
