Hello all, this is a fun new thread for Inventing New Items that you would like to see in Star Trek Online or alternatively, you can take one of the existing items from the game and modify it! Be as creative and imaginative as you like, then discuss as much as you like on the topic of the thread.
I also encourage you to talk about what types of Items you would like to see more of, and also to discuss the new items invented or modified by members of the community.
You can click on the names, if you're interested in viewing more information but there just ideas, the names would iinevitably be chosen by Cryptic.
These Impulse Engines don't exist, but I would like to see them in game and just incase you're interested, I used names I found that relate to what they do, searching the Wiki site. These engines would all have there own unique speed and turn rate attributes, but I didn't put those in as there would be multiple variables depending on what Mk ## they are.

Can't come up with stats right now (brain is working slow today), but I had an idea about shields. There have been instances in the different series where upgraded or stronger armor has been put on to ships to enhance their ability to take more of a beating (i.e. the deployable armor on Voyager and such). My thought was that some shields could have a hull damage mitigation buff or even a clickable short term buff to hull strength, in addition to the already existing shields. Of course to keep these balanced, the same "give and take" we see now between capacity and recharge time would have to apply to these as well. It would add a bit more variety i think.

I know many players want this item, I honestly think it would still be great with the original + 5 to all power settings to.

The game needs more items with interesting attributes like those efficient engines.
Kits with +hp or unique abilities.
Consoles that boost more than one stat.
Two cool weapons from EF2:
Assault Rifle
Primary attack is a shotgun-style blast with very limited range (Cone AOE), the special attack is a very damaging energy bolt that has a much bigger range than the standard attack. I dont remember if it did AOE damage or was single target damage though.
Attrexian arc launcher
Its special attack creates an energysphere at the targets spot that isn't damaging itself unless you fire with the arc launchers primary attack at the sphere which causes an explosion that does a huge amount of aoe damage.
Space weapons:
Revolving torpedo launcher (Front weapon only)
Half the cooldown of a standard launcher, 70% of the damage, 60° firing arc.
Swarm torpedo launcher (Front weapon only)
45° firing arc. Launches a torpedo that splits into 4 unguided projectiles that travel cylindrically. If no enemy target was selected, they will fly in the ships facing direction. The projectiles damage any enemies they come in contact with up to 10km away. Any cloaked ships that get hit become visible for 0.5 sec
Torpedo: Spread launches 2/3/4 torpedoes that split into 8/12/16 projectiles that form a larger cone.
Torpedo: High yield increases the damage of the projectiles while making them slower.
The game needs more items with interesting attributes like those efficient engines.

I madeup some new Engines on the 1st page, I like your ideas btw, especially them Torps.

It is small AoE.
And yes a Efficent Impulse Engine Mk X would be great.
Find it bit stupid that my Mk IV Efficent engine is still better then any MkX very rare engine you can get.
Maybe make a higher level at Memory Alpha, and let players make one there. "Efficent" should take up 2 rareity slots. (as in Rare: Efficent Impulse Engine Mk X, very rare: Efficient Impulse Engine Mk X [Spd] or [Turn])
Would also give people a reason to actually use Memory Alpha...

Weapon Scopes
Weapon Amplifiers
Scanners (or an upgrade to the tricorder) that lets you see what another character is wielding and carrying as armor, kit, etc.
Distraction Weapons (to lure enemies away from an objective so you don't have to kill them)
True Stun Weapons (that will incapacitate an enemy for a short time, say 5 minutes)

I'm sure we'll get a nice long list of melee weapons in this thread, maybe even some new Klingon melee weapons to!
That would esclate the arms race and rush the Spock Gun...mark II into development.

Hey if we've gone to war, I don't see why we can't use cloaks to, they could make just one as a mission reward, a really rare mission reward.
