I read somewhere, maybe in a magazine, forum post, STO advert, somewhere, that we would be able to visit the Mutara Nebula, and/or the Genesis Planet on our ingame adventures. And yes, I know the planet blew up, since the last movie, when is continuity an issue anymore? I dont recall seeing any posts about anyone visiting or talking about. So is it a game feature?
You visit the Mutara Nebula in one of the Lieutenant missions. It's the first mission where you encounter a nebula -- you have to scan asteroid anomalies, and your full impulse is disabled due to dangerous gas clouds or something like that.

The Mutara nebula is still there, but the Genesis planet (and presumably the star, which came from the same unstable matrix) was destroyed at the end of Star Trek III.
Yeah, it didn't dawn on me when I first played through it during beta. After release I actually read the conversation text and from what I recall I think my Ops officer explained that Kirk's epic battle with Khan took place inside the nebula.
Edit: I believe the mission is part of the Klingon episode line where they're trying to genetically engineer the "perfect Klingon." Shortly after visiting the nebula I think Starfleet realizes what the Klinks are doing, and that's when you begin to focus your search on finding Khan and shutting down their cloning operation.
Are you sure that was the Mutara nebula in that early mission? The Mutara Nebula is supposed to be in the Gamma Orionis region (which of course is in the game). That region is way down on the other side of Klingon space from where the Federation is, which is why we use a transwarp gate to get there. They even have a Mutara sector in the Gamma Orionis block in-game.
So far they've been consistent about how it fits into the Trek canon from what I've seen, especially if they make it accessible in Gamma Orionis at some point. But I don't think that early mission was Mutara specifically, unless I missed something.

I dont see how the last movie made "continuity not an issue" or anything. There have been many many star trek episodes throughout all its incarnations with parallel uinverses where things are similar but different. This game takes place in the "prime" universe, so the genesis planet is gone, and it should have continuity with TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, etc.
Part of the Nebula was consumed in the creation of the Genisis planet, as well as all of the USS Reliant. However in the final shot of the film Wath of Khan views of the planet show.. or suggest the Nebula is still present.
Also don't forget the USS Voyager encountered 3 Mutara CLASS nebula's during it's path home. So...
But then again Cryptic may not be replicating locations correctly for STO, after all Gamma quadrant is accessed from a Trans warp hub off the Briar patch??? Where as an entire series of a Star Trek line clearly states it's over near a small planet called Bajor. So the Mutara system may be displayed incorrectly/

*facepalm*
Gamma Orionis != Gamma Quadrant.
Also, the nebula in the Starbase 114 mission is the Celes nebula.
... if you look in the inset on the upper right that shows "Known Space", and is positioned between Alpha Orionis and Gamma Orionis. It looks to me like the sector block is down there beyond Klingon space. I don't see any continuity issues here so far.

...what the heck is up with the block of Federation space out past both the Klingon and Romulan empires? I can only assume that's basically cut off, now...

I think you are thinking of the Briar Patch.

The nebula for Hide&Seek is the Paulson nebula.
Excellent, that clears up a lot.
The Mutara Nebula are visible in the galactic map here:

I don't recall the Mutara Nebula ever being mentioned in STO
