Cannot create Character

Greez,

I have installed STO today and wanted to start playing, but I have the folloeing problem.
When I click on Character-creation I see no buttons or anything, just a blue light (inwich i guess the character should show i am creating) and the background. But there are no buttons to actually create an avatar, I cannot even return to the screen before.
I have the most actual driver for my ATI Saphire HD 4870 1Gb Graphiccard.
Can anyone help me please ?

Sincerly

Can you post a full dxdiag log?

start > run > dxdiag > save all info > copy and past the info in the txt file to pastebin.com and post the link it generates.

Also, from your launcher, click options and click safemode, then ok. See if you have the same problem.

Also, run http://files.champions-online.com/nettest.exe with full admin rights and post the results.

Simple answer? Something on your side is blocking the connection to the servers. Try running the game through one of the proxy servers. You can access these through the launchers option menu.
Please note that you can connect multiple times to either the US or EU proxy server as there are multiple, and are assigned randomley. It might take you a few tries to get a good one that will allow you to connect.

Also, disable/uninstall any firewalls/AV's you have on your system router, and see if that makes any difference.

Inr egards to Ip ranges you might need to open on yoru firewall, these are ports TCP 7000 through 7500. Do NOT port forward them as this can lead to more conenectivity issues.

HTTPS (TCP 443) is timing out and another port is showing a 1KB/sec, it is being blocked.

The second and third columns having 0 KB/sec is due to a localized install of Windows (non US-English),

    THX a lot @ Tedgp123

You were right. It seemed that my Firewall was blocking where it shouldn't !

Many thanks for yuur efforts in helping me with this issue. I have now solved the problem and are able to play the game :)
