Ground Control issues

Let me start off by saying that I'm really starting to get into the fast paced Ground PvP. When I'm slicing people up with my bat'leth, I cannot help but get a feeling of gratification. My problem however, is with the controls of my guy when I'm fighting.

When I engage the enemy, I run at him using the "w" key. However, at some point during our fight, my "w" key will suddenly start my guy running to his right, which is normally what the "e" key does. Or "w" will start running him backwards, which is what the "s" key usually does. Basically, the steering of my guy goes all screwy and my life quickly comes to a vicious, bloody end.

Why the hell does this happen, and what can I do about it? It is damn near impossible to stay on the moving enemy target when my controls remap themselves randomly during the battle.

I get the feeling the movement keys are centered on the camera while your character may turn to face the person you're attacking. I've run into this a lot lately when trying out Martial Arts.
The only relief I've found is to manually place the camera at the angle where you are looking at your character's back.

With fast paced ground PvP, the enemies are running all over the place (unlike in PvE). I find it very difficult to control the camera direction while also trying to keep in melee range as well as executing my attack combos. Then it changes the controls mid-fight and I die.

I get this a lot, but for me it seems to be tied to being in aim mode. It's like once I enter aim mode my wasd directions are locked relative to the direction my character was facing when I entered aim mode, regardless of what direction my camera or character are facing.

    What he said.

Until they get it fixed, you should get used to disable aim-mode when doing melee combat.

I'm not aware of entering aim mode. Is this something that happens automatically in melee? I know that in ranged combat, I have to tell it to go into aim mode if I want to.

I get this as well, as far as I can tell it's being caused by the controls being based off the position you entered aim/locked target and so when you turn (either by you/target moving or changing targets) the controls get messed up as game thinks you are still facing the same direction. By turn I mean when your character quickly changes direction (i.e. new target to your side so you auto-turn to their direction when you begin firing)

Sometimes the controls seem to reset themself, however the only sure way is to untarget (Esc) and press a/d to turn your character and reset camera.

Easiest way to fix this would be to base directions off current camera direction and not current character direction like other wasd/controller based MMOs do. (Although it may be impossible to do, as I think they just applied space cam controls to ground so they may be linked)

Well there are independent setting for space and ground camera. But so far I have not found a ground setting which corrects this issue. (I'm fine in space for some reason. This only happens to me on ground.)

Is there no way to keep the camera at my guys back so that the direction he is looking and the camera direction stay the same direction?
