Seeing the Effects of Consoles on the Paperdoll...

Anyone know if there is a way for you to see the effects of a console on your paperdoll? Such as say a tactical console that gives +15 starship phaser weapons, where can I go and see that effect? I tried looking in space skills, but it does not show up there.

Thanks for any help.

You need to check by rolling your mouse over either the Weapons Panel or a Weapon Icon on your Hotbar. The Weapons Panel and Hotbar both have "live" updates and include the effects of both consoles, your current energy power level (e.g., maximized for weapons, shields, engines, or balanced), and any abilities that are active. The Paper Doll items are static.

Make sure you are in your ship (not on an away mission or on a station) and then go to your captain's Status tab in the Character Status window (K or U to open it), then click on the 'Skill-Based Stats: Space' section.

I think what the OP was looking for was some sort of percentage or other real-time update to weapons effectiveness, etc.. rather than a static 'X points increase' in a given skill.

I'd personally like to see this as well, if for no other reason than to measure where the point of diminishing returns is at when adding consoles, etc... I've already found instances where adding skill points does absolutely nothing for a given skill. More than once I've ranked up 9 levels of a skill for a 1 second increase in effectiveness, which seems a colossal waste to me.

Ah, in that case you'll see it reflected in the damage and DPS figures for weapons in your weapons tray or on the hotbar.

There are no diminishing returns, at least not with any consoles I've looked at.

    Which skills and abilities specifically?

Unless this is a case of rounding (because the game appears to track most numbers to at least two decimal places but generally only displays integers, sometimes a small increase won't be shown on the UI even though it's there), I'd assume it's a bug.

You mean 1 second when going from no skill to level 9 in a skill, or when going from level 8 to level 9?

In the latter case, the higher levels of skills give less stat points than the lower levels (this is a case of diminishing returns) and so generally only see small increases to relevant abilities and weapons. See the Skills: The Numbers link in my sig for details.
