I'm trying to make the most diverse crew possible, so I'm trying to get one from all the major races listed in the Requisition area (Andorian, Bajoran, Betazoid, Bolian, Ferengi, Human, Klingon, Trill, Vulcan). I've got them all, but 3 are waiting in the wings until I get promoted and can use them.
That's why I was curious, as the thread title asks, how many BOs can you have at Cmdr level?
Thanks!

I meant to ask "When you upgrade to a new level, you sometimes get the option to add new officers to your ship [i.e. having the ones you have now and a few that are just blank, saying "New Officer"].
What I'm mainly wondering is what's the total number of selectable crew (besides my character) that you can have on your ship once you reach Cmdr. level?
My apologies for not being clear enough the first time; I hope this way looks better!
EDIT: Y'know, I just re-read the title of my post and realized how it could've caused confusion. LOL
If you mean the total number you can have currently active on your ship at one time, then it's equal to the number of bridge officer stations that ship has (between 1 and 5).
If you're on about that "New Officer" mission specifically, then it's just a mission to offer you a new candidate, if you don't have space on your ship to comission him/her, then you can't have them as a BO and they'll have to remain a candidate until you have space. If you already have the maximum number of candidates, then you'll either have to refuse the one you just got or refuse one you already had to make way for the new one.
So if you are wanting one of each race (you have 9 listed), you won't be able to until Captain rank...at Commander you will be short by 1
Max is 10 at Rear Admiral, 9 at Captain, 8 at Commander, 6 at Lt. Commander, 4 at Lieutenant
Just re-read this post and realized something. lol
It actually works out perfectly, since I'm using a Human as my main character.
What happens when you Refuse a bridge officer? Does it go into your inventory or evaporate or...?
they blow 'em out an airlock.
