I'm trying to get a cross mapping going of how equipment bonuses and skills map out. I've been able to find some basic info but I'm still lost I think. What I ran into last night were quest rewards for my starship deflector dish. there were lots of confusing selections and I wasn't sure what I should pick.
I"m not even sure what question I should be asking... but i'm trying to make a chart showing tiered archtypes of general skills > more specific skills > specific BOFF skills.
For example where would sensor probes fit in? and the specific boff skills.
Could never figure it out, too much conflicting and confusing info around, so i just stuck wtih the standard deflector array. Don't really use science abilities beyond jam sensors anyway being a tactical/engineering specialist.
These all refer to the attributes that buff specific science skills. What sort of deflector system you add to your ship will largely depend on what science officer skills you rely on.
For example, sensors affects the duration of skills such as Jam Sensors and Scramble Sensors. Emitters affect Tractor Beam powers, etc...
If you look at each of the science skills available, they will specify what attribute gives them a bonus.
what i'd like to know is do they affect all your personal skills or do they affect everyone on your ship (BOs) and how much is +9, +15, +20 worth percent wise. We can see with things that have a duration if it increased or if the damage is increase like +damage to phaser but what of other skills and is the +to hit with these skills increased as well? Trial and error is one way but than its bound to you and can't sell it on the exchange.
Another thing I'd like to know is how much of a power is based off a skill. When using a power that has multi sources is 60% from one skill 20% from another and than 20% from the last or does each add together. for ex attack pattern alpha has 3 sources say i get one to 18% another to 32% and 50% am I than getting 100% boost? A bit more info on the skill screen one raising each one would go a long way.
