Hi, I just bought the game 2 days ago and started playing last night. I have an Alienware M17X laptop with a quad core processor and dual geoforce 280m in sli config with 8 gigs of memory. I decided to try out this game, since I am a Trekkie. At the first area where I am running around the ship with Borg on it, I noticed a problem with lag I think. I would take a few steps and freeze then take a few steps and freeze for like a second or two. My video setting or on normal not high. I have no problems with games like AOC, Mass Effect 2, or Crysis on this laptop. No matter if I turned the setting to video on low, it still lagged some. Is there anything I can do about this? Are others having this problem? All my video and drivers are up to date and running windows 7 ultimate 64bit. Any suggestions? If I keep experiencing this, I would quit the game.

If you freeze then theres a setting wrong on your system. Try disabling Post processing and dynamic lighting. These two options combined have known issues with lag and stuttering, which is what you are describing. Failing that, try rolling back your drivers a few versions, purely for troubleshooting purposes.
Also, try disabling SLI for troubleshooting purposes.
The latest drivers for nvidia and ATI have known issues for a lot of games. It's the reason they are pushing out new builds and hotfixes faster than ever before.
