I believe that was only for a limited time during the head star access. That's when I got my lifetime subscription and I have the extra char slots, but I may be wrong

I have a lifetime membership and have 3 slots and can create another toon. You have to reach level 5 and open the Klingons to get one of the slots. You can then create a Klingon or a Fed. That gives you the original 2 plus the 2 for the life but it was only the first round of lifers that got that bonus.

I missed the boat on this one. I got the game last week and would like to lifetime sub, but it looks like I missed the coolness for doing so. That kind of makes me so i won't... oh well

The cutoff from what I recall was February 1 for the lifetime sub.

It still makes sense financially if you are going to stick around.

If you pre-Ordered the game, Entered the Pre-Order game key (not retail key), and purchased a lifetime Sub on or before Feb. 2, 2010, then you would have 5 character slots (5th one opening after 1 character hits lvl 6). You also got the Borg Character creation for Fed Borg or Klingon Borg (both of which liberated of course). Price was $239.99 USD

If you bought a Lifetime subscription after Feb 1, 2010, you do not get character slots or the Borg character creation. Price is $299.99 USD.
