I can login with my character, and then I crash and get kicked out. I'm using a laptop so the graphics are obviously **** and not upto spec, but I use this laptop for games like KOTOR, SWG, WoW and other high graphic games, and they do work.. just laggy at times.
So could it be something else, or is it that Cryptic have made this game so it wont work at all on lower cards? If so.. then thats stupid!
Crashlog (Idk if it may help)

I realise that. But even so, I've played games with higher specs than this before, as I have already said, and they loaded and worked fine, just a bit slow and laggy at times (easily fixed by changing graphic settings).
I doubt it is a compatibility issue, and if it is then why? 99% of games allow you to play with lower specs, they just run ****.

What are the pixel shader requirements of those games and what do you have?

Those games are nowhere near as graphically intensive as STO is.
Running Win7 Ultimate on a Celeron 420? Really? To be honest, that's seems a bit of a waste, did you buy a retail copy of Win7? If so you should be able to transfer the license to a new laptop, if playing STO is that important to you. But not seeing many good options there .
KOTOR: ATI Radeon 9200 or NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti or better recommended.
WoW: 3D graphics processor with Vertex and Pixel Shader capability with 128 MB VRAM Such as an ATI Radeon X1600 or NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT class card or better
CoD MW 2: 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT or better or ATI Radeon 1600XT or better
I don't know the others off the top of my head, I don't play that many games at once.
They are technically "High" graphics, considering the chip that I have. What I dont get is, the game should run anyway, even if its slow and ****. It doesnt even load anything FOR it to crash on.
If it is the graphics, then ill have to try and fix my PC, or just play somewhere else. No way can I get a new laptop yet. Just kinda bugged that the game wont work here, this laptop might have TRIBBLE graphics, but it plays alot of games that it shouldnt if you go by specs.

Windows pinball is high spec graphics with your system specs
Seriously now though. The simple fact is this. If you want to play STO or ANY of the game rel;eased in the last few years, youre going to need to buy a new system. Your system was high spec in 2001-2002. There are machines approx 50x more powerful than your current machine now, and will only cost £$300 ish

The part you're not getting is that STO requires pixel shader 3 support. Your GPU only does pixel shader 2. So it's not a matter of how many other games you can play, because it's obvious those games do not require pixel shader 3.
It would be like installing a Voodoo 2 card and trying to play WoW, and saying it should run because you can play Doom and Duke Nukem 3D. It just doesn't work that way. The minimum specs are there for a reason. Now it's sometimes possible to get the game to run if you don't meet the minimum, but there is no guarantee.
This is a card that should be able to handle this handily, I do not have any issues playing any other games, including Crysis, Bioshock2, MW2, Farcry, and others......<----some of those games may not be graphically intense, but I am including them just to note that I play quite a few games and have never had any problems on any level like I am now with STO
You just admitted publicly that you have broken the law and downloaded windows 7 for free. Did you know that Microsoft can read this or someone turns you in and you will have to pay $100,000 dollars for every burned copy you have? If your gonna download stuff, you don't advertise it. I'd rather have full official copy myself, it's stupid to risk being tracked and going to jail.

LOL... yeah, not gonna happen. Seriously dude, where did you pull that one from? I'm not advocated the use of pirated software, but this statement has absolutely no basis in fact. Pure fiction.

Not to mention I also downloaded a copy of windows 7..... For testing. Before you make up "facts" abpout what a big bad wolf microsoft can be make sure you know the story. I do have to agree with the last poster that that whole statement was absolute bollocks.

It is, however, a violation of our code of conduct to discuss such things here and I suggest you all cease doing do.
wow I love how everyone automatically assumes the OP is using a pirated copy of win 7 because he downloaded it. I guess there really IS people who didn't realize windows 7 open beta and release candidate was valid for an entire year after downloading, and that they still have 30 day trial verisons of it for download....

Isn't the version from his diaxdiag an OEM version that was "downloaded"?
I'd like to contribute here:
I crash ALOT on ground missions.

Ditto. When I'm on a team, it's a 50/50 shot if I'll DC when on the ground, and sometimes immediately after.

I've had the same issues, you'll need to turn the shadows off, possibly dynamic lighting too. (its a known issue)

Shadows work fine, it's just the Dynamic Lighting that crashes on ATI cards.
