Suggestion for Game Crashes...

Cryptic...

Please consider in the future giving us the option to choose whether or not we want the launcher to verify files following a game client crash.

It takes my PC (and I am running a quad core with good stats) almost 30 minutes to verify the almost 98,000 files after a client crash.

Given that I am a casual gamer, and only have a few hours out of every day to play, this is particularly frustrating.

Thanks.

You can click the Cancel button at any time.

Thanks for the replies, coderanger and zap.

I think I've played too many MMOs where there wasn't a way to back out of verifying files without starting the whole verify process all over again. :)

There have been cases where I've CTD'd fairly frequently until I've let this complete. I'd recommend forcing a run when you have the opportunity if you CTD with any kind of frequency.

You need to be careful about telling people in the subscription-based game that the solution to their problem is to push the CANCEL button. :)

When it is running a file verify there is a very large button labeled "Cancel" on the right side, I think it was pretty clear what I meant :-P

    a) It was a joke.

    b) When people see your post in the Digest, all they see is "you can always push the Cancel button" without any context. Now, what does that sound like?

If they cancel their accounts without reading things fully, then I say that, as a community, we win. =)

I was just reading Dev posts from the Dev tracker and I saw this.

I though that coderanger must be getting really frustrated. Then I read the rest of this thread.
