been searching for a while now and have not been able to find an answer.
can anyone confirm how ground powers like stubborn work? does the chance to resist a hold or placate mean that I have a 20% or 40% chance to not be affected at all by a hold or placate thrown at me? or does it mean that it lasts 20 or 40% less time.
if it's the former, I could see traits like that being useful if you did much pvp ground combat. if it's the latter, then what's the point? so a hold lasts 8 seconds instead of 10, I will still be dead either way

so far, all 3 of my characters have taken space focused traits, other than ground traits forced on them by their race. but for my next character, I was considering focusing a bit more on ground skills but not convinced there really are too many worth while.
on a side note, wondering if someone could relate their experiences with the liberated borg ground attack with chance to hold. considering that as part of this project - find ground traits that increase my options to hold enemies while decreasing their odds to hold me.
as ground combat is currently so skewed to expose/exploit, trying to find the best options to compete under those conditions
thanks

X / ( 1 + <resistance total> )
For example, a 20% Resistance to Placate/Confuse would reduction duration X / ( 1 + .2 ) = X / 1.2. If you have to bonuses for the same thing they do stack. For a +20% resistance and a +30% Resistance would be X / ( 1. + .2 + .3) == X / 1.5.
