I have cookies turned off on my newly built Quad core machine.
I cannot login to my account, despite entering my password and username correctly.
How may I play the game?>

    What error do you get?

Here is the error:"Account Error, please contact Billing support."
It just shows the same "Account name:"
    "Password:" screen
and claims the server is "down" in the upper right corner of the screen.
Which is untrue, because my laptop logs in just fine to this forum and it says Server up.

    Ah OK, account error.

Copy and paste the Products section of the account. You will need a retail key and an active subscription to play the game.

It won't let me login to the game

Account Error, please contact Billing support or You are not allowed to log into the server at this time make sure you meet the account requirements to play the game.

A retail copy of the game (physical box from store or a digital download) with a valid retail key
A subscription to the game (Credit card, Gamecard, or Paypal required)

These need to be tied to your STO account, make sure you create and login to your account before activating the key. http://www.startrekonline.com/activate

The retail game purchase DOES include 30 days of time, but you NEED a subscription setup on your account before you can play. The subscription will begin 30 days after you register your retail key.

Wait a sec, it claims to be patching now.
I get 30 free days with the purchase of the game, right?
How long will the patch take? I have a cable modem.

You get 30 days of play when you activate your key and subscription. You don't get charged until the 30 days is over, but they require an active subscription to validate your retail key you enter.

WoW a guys states that he can't log in so you are on auto-assume he does not have a game-key....... lol

Exact same problem here, verify with the website that my account is active start of my first 30 days.

But I did notice in the upper right of the login... SERVER DOWN with red to the right of it :D

    Except the servers are up
    and no trouble logging in
and a server down will not give you a billing error
