They usually specifically say on the box opened games are non-returnable but you might be lucky No one onmhere can give you the answer. The only people who can are the ones you bought it from.

Also you used the key. Making that copy useless. So no.

You might want to actually read the box before you buy. You say not compatible, so its one of two things. You run Linux and if that's the case you really should know better. And if you have a Mac again you should know better, the only way a Mac can run the vast majority of games is through bootcamp.

Basically boils down to knowing what your computer can run and reading the system requirements on the box (of course this has become more difficult recently as the system requirements are in microscopic sized text.) or look them up online.

They will not take it back, also for future reference check out this site http://cyri.systemrequirementslab.com/srtest/ it runs a test and will tell you if your computer can run it, no guess work thanks to the number system that the hardware companies use

when it comes to modern mmos the client is usually avaliable for free online to download. What your actually paying for when you buy the game is the key.
If you've used the key then no one else can use it so they won't give you anything for giving the disk back.

Or its a hardware compatibility problem in which case if you can afford it, upgrade your computer. Run that system requirements link and see what you need to upgrade and go from there. But as has been pointed out several times already. You opened the box, you used the key. Unfortunatley it is yours to keep forever whether you play it or not.

Actually look up your local or statutory laws. This kind of sticker on a box doesn't mean a thing if your specific laws indicate something like a "cool off period" on purchase or something similar. In the UK you can return within 28 days even if you open the box. You might have to bring a copy of the law with you and speak to a manager but you may well find that the "opened boxes are non-returnable" breaches your consumer rights. This may not be the case where you live, but it doesn't hurt to check up on what you can and can't do in relation to returning goods.

Pretty much anywhere here (US) specifically states that opened software cannot be returned. And Target I know won't even give you store credit (unless they changed their rules).

with him actually applying the CD code to it its a chance of slim and none to get his money back since he basicly got the whole of what the product offers.
(you anymore dont really need the CD unless you need to reformat your computer)

And in the US they dont have laws about what you can and cant return its depending on the store you by it from
