I am cursed...

Well, first I had the problem with my 2wire modem being set to 54 mbps and disconnecting when I tried to patch. Corrected this issue only to have a new one... my dlink wireless adapter is causing me netr33x.sys bsod or blue screens.. Unfortunately, all of these problems are related to STO. So, basically I've come to the conclusion that I am cursed when it comes to STO. I'm pretty much to the point where I think when I fix this particular problem I will just have another one.. This is truly "cryptic"!

What is the exact model number of your dlink adapter, including rev version - example: DWL-520D

In english? Your rotuer is currently garbage ;) Try updating your firmware drivers from their website. If it was a blue screen due to STO, you would recieve a different stop code, along with a different filename or reason.

Oh I just knew someone was going to tell me my hardware was garbage and I need to do this or that to get it to work. I understand all that, I'm sure I could spend a little more money and be able to solve my current issue. I've played online games for years, EVE online being a more recent one, which is a fairly robust game. I never, ever, ever, ever ... ever have issues like this with other games. Eh, I wasn't really looking for support anyhow, I was just venting... and I am now as well. I probably wouldn't have bought this game if I would have had a more specific set of requirements to play the game though.. For instance:

    No dlink routers
    No bad isp
No problem spending money on new hardware
No problem spending vast amounts of time going through forums trying to figure out what's wrong
    No 2wire dsl modems

I guess what I'm trying to say is this many problems in such a short period of time kinda makes me feel like I'm being picked on by the STO Gods.. Please don't take any of this seriously or offensively, I'm just blowing off steam.

Old hardware can fail or become an issue over time due to heat, movement, and lack of support.

The search I did showed drivers for netr33x.sys being from the early 2000s. They also showed people reporting BSOD in other games, 6 years ago or more.

You haven't posted the model #, rev version, and driver version (inc date) of your adapter yet.

You can easily play. Just upgrade your router or buy a new one.

The wireless adapter (not router) is the issue at this time for him. :)
