STOL shutting down the my network

Every time I go to play STOL and one of my roommates is playing a game after ten minutes or so the internet goes down. After I get disconnected from the server the internet goes back up. I have the ports for STOL forwarded and I have tried using the StartrekonlineTest5.exe but it hasn't helped. Does anyone have a solution or at least having the same issues?

If it is during game play and not patching at the launcher level, your modem/router may just be overheating or have a flaw, or over taxed.

What game is your room mate playing?

Post the brand, model, and flash version of your modem and/or router. Wired or wireless?

The game patches fine it is while I am playing. Also my pc my roommate’s pc and our XBOX are hard wired into the router. My roommate was playing team fortress 2 and my other roommates xbox went off line too (he wasn’t playing an online game). The router is “Linksys by Cisco wireless G broadband router WRT54G2” Firmware version 1.5.01. Also the modem and router are brand new got the cable company to replace the old one today.

I would take off the port forwarding if you put it in for STO (tcp 7000-7500), that is un needed and could cause a conflict with another system to start.

What brand and model is the modem? Do you have a second router in the mix or just the WRT54G2 and the cable modem?

Looks like that firmware is the latest version
    Firmware 1.5.01 (Build 13)
-Change wireless broadcast/multicast data rate from 11Mbps to 1Mbps.

    Firmware 1.5.01 (Build 8)
    - Update with the patch to fix ping issues.
    - Update wireless driver.
    - WPS set to enable.
    - Router behind router function support.
    - Win7 Support.
    - Fixed HNAP P2 issues.
