I wanted to play some STO this evening, and when I put in my credentials, it works, blah bah. When I click my Character and hit "Play" it works fine till about 3/4 of the way through the loading bar when first starting to play.
It seems this only happens to me when I am in the SOL system, which is a little silly because I kinda need to go there (I am still using the starter ship. And I am still learning the game, and not being able to get back to Earth is driving me insane, let alone not being able to play)
Have you tried? Quick way to test - what settings are you using now?
If the game doesn't support your graphics card, that would seem to make sense that you are having problems right?
Post the dxdiag of your system information and display devices.
Of course that would cause some problems, but it's only when I try to enter one specific area. I almost think it just might be my computer taking a long time to load it, and server lag, and maybe not a problem I can fix at all. I am temporarily on a very old computer, so I guess I just have to make the best of it, eh?
Seems like SOL is a common place for people having texture related problems (long loading times or failures), I would think it is one of the more demanding areas right now.

I concur, I am an advid Star Trek fan, and was psyched to see this, and waited till I had the spare cash to pay for it and a few months playing time, and so far, 3/4ths of the time I've had the game is waiting for it to dowload/patch, hell, even boot up.
I'm hoping it improves greatly, I believe that it should still be in dev stages honestly.

The thing is, I already play with 'Lowered" cause STO doesn't support my graphics card, do you think if I lower them more it could help?
