Future C store prices?

I'm really lookin forward to respecs and extra character slots, and would be willing to purchase more credits in advance but I don't want to buy more than I need.

According to http://champions-online.com/store

4 character slots is 1200 credits.

A single respec is 1000 credits.

Costumes average 280 credits.

Are these prices going to be similar to STO prices? Also, the 4 character slots doesn't mention a limit. (yeah I can have an army of aliens).

    Probably.

Any better answer will have to come from Cryptic and I think there response, at this time, would likely be "We haven't decided yet".

CO is a good place to start. I think STO prices will *probably* be in line with what you see there but no more certain information is available at this time.

I don't think CO ever said a limit.

And remember they get 4 but they started out with 8 (lifers got 16). So with STO having a smaller starting number, I would suspect the amount we can buy per transaction would be less than 4.

That kind of puts one STO slot per 1200, ouch, I don't think we will get 4 for 1200

On the other hand keeping the slots relatively cheap (like 4 slots for 1200) might motivate more people into doing it here because it'll be looked upon almost as a "no-brainer necessity" to play (because of the low number of default slots) instead of a "unnecessary expensive luxury".

    I guess we'll see...

Funny - we're working on nailing this down today. : )

For the most part - prices will end up being different that CO. The game is different, both functionally and technically. Some things are cheaper, some aren't. Some things are more important, some aren't.

We've said it before - there will be a moderately priced in-game currency respec option. If we have one available for MT, it'll be because would rather use their in-game currency for something else.

Just a hunch, but I'd expect it to be Starfleet merits. ("You've earned a slot in the Advanced Training Program.")

Thanks for adding some real info on this topic. I don't think anyone assumed the prices for things in this game HAD to be exactly what they are in CO. On the other hand barring any other info I think it's reasonable to assume that you'll be using CO as a good starting point. ;)

This is good to hear. I don't think most people would really mind if there was a secondary MT respec option as long as there's a in-game currency option as a default.

Let's hope for BARE mid-riffs uniform from Mirror Universe. I'd also love to have the sleeveless shirt that Kirk wore instead of that stupid leather jacket.

All I have to say is that respec had better be an ingame thing you do with ingame currency (they need a credit sink somewhere anyway) rather than a real world money from c-store to respec skills. If they do the later then I can gaurentee that quite alot of ppl will quit over that(not trying to troll but seriously think about it). Or make it so you can respec 10 times ingame and anything after that be a c-store option.

Now extra character slots, sure I can see that as a c-store option and it probably would be somewhere along the lines of what you were talking about there though it would be nice to get some feedback from cryptic on this.

I personally wouldn't mind the first respec to be free but I'd be happy to pay merits for any others after that

i don't mind the c-store having things to buy that don't really affect the game and if it does it should be something that can be gotten in game as well.

i would also suggest any major changes (in like a patch) to the possible specs major changes in the skills that there is a re-spec as the patch goes live that way if something that works in a spec but is changed with a patch the person can reapply those points to new spots to make everything work again.

Never really been a fan of games that have stores like this. Already paid for the game itself, and have to pay a continuing subscription, why is that not enough?

Other games seem to have a model where the first respec is free. Then you get an ever increasing cost for each additional. To make constantly adjusting to FOTM very costly.

OK every successful game thus far has had an in game re-spec, that is those games that you can re-spec. These games use in-game currency to do the re-spec. I have thousands of Star Fleet merits and Honor, yet I only can spend them on promoting BO and changing the name of my ship. So what is the point of the them. We need to have a purpose to have so many and use so little. There needs to be a drain on the them. It would also be cool to have a way to trade in the merits for energy credits and vice-versa. If I had to spend part of my paycheck I may never re-spec out of principle.

As far as things that don't matter to actual game-play, I think those are OK for people to spend real money on. Also I suggest there be new free things for us lifetime subscribers besides extra char. slots and a borg char. It would be nice to see occasional thank you and we thought about you.

This of course from the Cryptic dev person on page one indicating there will be an in game currency way to respec.

when they do offer respec the first one should be free due to the lack of content and information on talent specs (A Serious LACK OF documentation! )

you hit r-adm 45 and thats all there is then be expected to spend REAL money to respec is hogwash.

I hope this is not heading in direction of those Free mmo's where if you want to improve you need to break out visa card>

You did read the post that said plainly you *could* use in-game currency (Starfleet Merits, whatever) and that the C-Store purchase was merely an additional option, did you not?
