Okay, so I'm a noob here, but thought I would ask this anyway. I am now at level 10, and I noticed that the next level of ships costs a certain amount of currency, 22,000 I think, what else do I need to do to get the next level star ship? T2 Cruiser for example? Do I have to go back to the Sol system to get promoted before I can get the new ship?

    1) You'll get a credit for your next Starship purchase making it 1 energy credit. the second ship of the tier you purchase will be at full price.

    2) You need to spend your skill points. You can get to level 11, but unless you spend your skill points you won't get the rank of LtC. You'll get a little texty thing that says you've achieved the rank and a note to stop by the admiral IIRC.

    3) Yeah, you'll want to transwarp back to Sol

Actually if you look closely the "free ship" costs 1 Ship Plaque which is given to you by Quinn when you get promoted.

Yeah, for some reason the ship plaque has the same icon as energy credits so it's a little confusing.
