Something I read in the "What's Next" link makes me wonder...

I noticed that there was a page that gave us some upcoming info, but something in particular made me curious.

"State of Q - Q transports you back in time to do him a special favor. "

Do you guys think this means Cryptic was able to get John deLancie to reprise the voice of our favorite prankster? :D

While I share your suspicions, I do so with a diminished degree of certainty than you do. Do you have some special insider information that grants you such clairvoyance?

I knew you were going to say that!

Seriously, all jokes aside, as much as I would LOVE to have more voice overs from the original actors, it's clear to see that there is a very small chance that we will see any in the near future.

Maybe if the game becomes a huge success we might, but this 'early' in development it's doubtful just from a cost perspective. Even then, it may only be in an expansion. Hell even current actor contracts on the work they are doing now could be prohibitive.

It would be a big selling point to advertise that well known Trek actors are voicing over certain parts of the game to the buying public - I doubt Cryptic would keep it as a surprise.

So no, in my opinion, unless we see it advertised somewhere, I doubt we would see it. It's a crying shame.

    Isn't that mission already ingame?

In Gamma Orionis, I did a mission with Q anyway, I forget what it was called. It wasn't John de Lancie Q.

Don't need to be clairvoyant when I can do the mission ;)

Edit: Yes, that mission is currently ingame.

I'm clairvoyant. As proof, I offer the following Divination: *swirls hands over crystal ball* The mission's already released, chief.

mission in time.....Do we get to meet Janeway at DS9 before she took Voyager to the badlands and tell her leave a day later and cease Voyager from being a show? Or could we go and tell Chris Pike "Hey, just go with Spock nicely and dont cause a fuss?"

I actually thought that mission was very well done. Right down to the Continuum members behaviour. Story wasn't bad either. Voice overs would have been nice, but ultimately i think it was one of the best missions i've done so far in STO. I wasn't overly impressed with the new Borg missions. They still lack any menace and don't strike me as anything more than annoying space zombies which is a shame.

Doesn't have to be the John de Lancie Q, i'll take Keegan de Lancie (Q Junior) or Suzie Plakson (female Q).

Just have a "famous" Q voice actor there and i'll be happy.

When I did State of Q the quest, reading what Q was saying I could hear the voice of the actor in my head thus it seemed like Q to me.

Reading your choices, I agree, but I think it'd be really interesting to see Olivia d'Abo (Amanda Rogers from the TNG ep "True Q") make another appearance. :) I saw that episode recently and enjoyed her character a lot.
