Besides all the fixes, Borg and Klingon content that will be added next, what is you really want to see add to the game? It doesn't have to be anything major, but yif you have this MUST wish list item or items, feel free to post them here.
Things that are a no brainer of being added in my book:
1. Romulan, Cardassin and Dominion Factions. Maybe a Borg Faction might happen. All of these are in the game, so it wouldn't take much to make it player based, or at least parts of it.
2. Deeper game play of course, with the main job of getting the game out live, and after the main bugs are finally fix. There is room to open up the storylines in the game, not just one story arc, but a few more to boot. My hope is these new story arcs will branch off like a tree, and lead you off it many directions within the game.
Now here is my wish list:
1. Fleets
a. Fleets get a starbase to use as a HUB.
b. Fleets get structures to use as a group, spacedock, mining station, research station, etc.
c. Fleets get true Fleet missions, not just the ones you see now as a Faction, but missions that have Fleets in game working as a group.
d. Fleets get in game peeks, Logos on ships and stations, custom Uniforms, special standing within the Faction for completing Fleet missions as a whole.
2. Crafting
a. Change current system so we can study what we find. ( We find xyz, we reseach it to break it down more into abc.)
b. We can use computers in game to mix and match what we find into useful items. ( Basic to very rare, with the help of the replicator, we should be making what we want. Within reason of course.) The current system really isn't crafting, but if you change the system so the players can have more control over what they are doing, it would be a bigger plus.
c. Add modify as an option, so we can buff up all items used in the game. From ship parts to what we have as personal items, let us buff these items under the crafting option.
3. Bridge view
a. Make it part of Sector space. It would have a point besides eye candy. (And show ships that get close to you on screen!)
b. Add the Captain's ready room. You can get new orders here, display awards and have a few personal issues for decor.
c. Add Conference room, so players can sit down a talk. It's eye candy, but hey so is the bridge right now.
Ok That's a short wish list from me, please feel free to add more or your own, but this is something WE MUST keep hammering home to Cryptic.
for both sides, something like what EVE has. the Klingons would have a High Council and feds a Federation council. these would be ppl in game elected, feds, and fought for, Klingons, who would bring whatever issue there may be with STO. feds would have a president along with a number of councillors to be determined, whereas the Klingons would have a Chancellor and councillors. not sure exactly how this would work, but there it is. for the Klingons, if someone decides the chancellor isn't doing enuff he can be challenged for the position, and the same for councillors who aren't bringing things to the chancellors attention which would be passed on to the devs.
Well in the game UO, they have a faction system, and you would vote in your leadership. They would be in power for about 7 days I think, and you could vote them back in or out after that 7 days. While in power they gave orders as to were to attack or defend to the faction as a whole. You also got faction points for being in those battles, and gained faction items.
Could it work in STO? Not sure, it would be different vs what we have now.
2. More exploration content I want to beam down, and explore those strange worlds and seek out new life.
3. Crafting system needs to be redone big time. I've been playing SWG for close to six years now, and what I was really impressed with was the crafting system. I would like to create things and new technology with anomolies that I scan. I would also like to see Memory Alpha redone so I can study what I have collected in space and on the ground.
I know I can think of more to add, but I just woke up and my brain isn't at 100% yet.
You beam down to a planet, and you don't see much if anything that you would call wildlife. I hope this changes over time, as it makes the planets feel empty.
Also while I am on the topic. We need more missions with pre-warp races, and the option to beam down wearing their outfits. Maybe make it so you fail if your not blending in, and if your walking around with weapons drawn. The missions should have you walking around their towns, and have you figuring things out, whatever the mission is for. Right now the prime Directive means nothing in the game, I say make it so. It would add a new level to away missions if you do.
Even thought post like this are said over and over again. I really hope the DEVs are paying attention to what is being said. It's what we as players want, and I don't see why we can get atleast 1/2 of the requests.
Of the things I want most, I would probably say having them fix the Galaxy model is the biggest thing bothering me atm.
Other than that, I would say adding in solar systems instead of just a random planet layout when you enter a system. I had always thought that this was what the genesis system was supposed to do, not just create a single planet and a moon/debris field so close in orbit that it would crash into the planet within a few days rather than orbit it at all.
On that note, the stars in those systems should look more like stars instead of a glowing bubble. I've flown into systems where the planet looked more like a star than the star did because of how much it was lit up.
I would like to see the ship's interior added. Make your ship feel alive! With off course pirates who try to steal your cargo, just several men, not 6 six rooms full (you need to complete the mission within 5 minutes otherwise you will fail -> leads to some money (energy) loss...fun! )
Outside of Nimoy, of course. Quinto sounded like he only had half an hour available, so they just threw him the script and he got out of there as quick as possible without actually pre-reading it. I only say this because I thought he had a great performance as Spock. Compared to the EMH, not so much.
I, too, would like to see more of my own ship. And missions that take place aboard it. "Captain, Klingon boarders have taken over the Engineering section. We need to go down there and get them out!" Make it part of a sequence of missions rather than something that comes up independently.
More Star Trek music. (I bet licensing fees would be expensive, though.)
I like the fleet headquarters idea. Make it customizable, like bases in City of Heroes. Give it some uses, like exchange and bank links, uniform customization, etc. (Of course, it'd be a while before we saw something that complex.)
Explore missions that aren't just "Click on A. Now click on B. Now click on C." Throw in a few obstacles to overcome.
"Stun" settings for all weapons. There are times I'm not comfortable vaporizing my opponents. (I know, just don't eve use Exploit Attacks. But man, some of them are also simply good attacks!)
Different colors for Federation and enemy weapons. Not full customization, just something to add variety to the appearances. It wouldn't take long to learn what represents what, and it would fit the canon better. (OTOH, it is nice to know Green = Disruptors.)
More high level fleet actions that work, the ability to start a fleet action as a fleet instead of having to jump groups of 5 around until you get everyone finally in the same instance. Romulans after Klingons are in a much better spot obviously.
I know the OP said "besides fixes" but grouped missions are so horribly buggy that I don't even like bothering
Second: More diplomatic and exploration missions. And more than just "Click 5 glowy things" I want something like what happened in the TV shows. I got a mission that was about fixing some radiation poisoning in a pre-warp civ. I didn't get the choice NOT to fix it (Prime Directive anybody?) and it really was just "click 5 glowies".
I'm still enjoying the game though but these are the two things I want the most. Also, get Shatner to come in and do a voiceover for the Guardian mission because I think Kirk would talk to you too, not just Spock
A large and open PvP zone that will allow different factions to gain control of variuos systems, sectors and the like so we can have a player controlled war setting. Not to mention proffessions that would allow a player to function in such an enviroment. ei: smugglers, spies and the like.

This could be the neutral zone. Treat it like a Lake Wintergrasp in Warcraft.
If you want to know what this game needs in 2 words... it comes down to CONTENT and VARIETY.
I like whats done so far, but I personally think that there needs to be some kind of more personal story with your character specifically. you start off as part of of the military, but how did your career begin in starfleet or the KDF? How did you end up on that ship that initiated your fateful journy through the ranks of starfleet.
At present.. we all do the same missions to get to the same place at the same time.. the only difference to date is whether you go science engineering or tactical. The way you fight is different, but all the content is exactly the same regardless of career path.. it doesn't matter if you are Vulcan, Andorian, Human, or any of the other races. I want to know how my character did at the academy I want to take the Kobayashi Maru test. I want my beginning story as a vulcan to be different than as an andorian, and actually seeing same racial-specific quests along your travels would definitely bring a pretty cool feel to the game.
I would also like to see sector space expanded greatly in the existing systems and races, especially before adding new playable races.. such as the romulans, cardassians, or the borg.
As i've said before, Cryptic has a good game on their hands, but now its up to them to make it a great game.
A Challenge - 2 weeks of casual gameplay to complete the game?
Trade in consumables etc.
manufacturing
ship/console - modification give me 7 front cannons and watch my backside get kicked.
open pvp everywhere
total customisation
Piracy
twitch/skill based combat (not target and break space bar)
Something to lose - apart from the 200 quid lifetime subscription
Increase instance sizes - make it seem more like an mmorpg
3 dimensional space/maps - ground games are inherantly 2d, space is 3d, yet it's not!
rotate universe around ship in Z axis.
stop with the popups instantly after you've destroyed ( a soon to explode and kill you) a ship
More ground expansion
Wildlife - explored the entire sector and found no animal life.
Discoveries of new systems/planets
Epic, unbeatable fleet actions which actually require engineers/cruiser tanks, science healers etc. and serious tactics
epic unbeatable ground fleet actions
(when i say unbeatable i mean weeks and weeks of fleets developing tactics to kill maim, destroy, muhahahaaa)
I could see a massive fleet action destroying a planets or systems defences step by step, and then liberating the planet with fleet ground actions...

What this game is missing bigtime is wild life!

Unimportant. Also, this kind of TRIBBLE is what got SWG NGE'd.
Too much reading was the exact complaint, I believe.
I want to see large engagements around planets, with orbital bases or ground bases to be taken as objectives.

Fixed it for ya.

Also, female Mirror Universe uniforms.
