Go to the second post in my thread and look through my suggestions to fix this issue.
i have an active account a product key from a retail box and have been playing for the past month. for some reason this morning i try to launch the game and it is trying to launch but not working. i have made no recent changes. this is 100 percent on cryptic s end. im currently at attempt 223 1hr 21 minutes.i still see server status as up.

My second post is not about your account, it is about launcher issues. My launcher on three different systems is updating and working fine (XP, Vista, Win 7). Something on your system or between you and the cryptic update server is interfering with the update.
Post your log files from the launcher here to tell us what is failing. These files in your install directory are pcl.log, patchxfer.log, and errors.log. The latest enries will be at the bottom and will have a date stamp of 100222 for example.
do a tracert patchserver.crypticstudios.com
also download and run nettest
Nettest:
Go to http://files.champions-online.com/nettest.exe
Download this file and run it
A command prompt should appear running the test automatically
Column 1 and 3 have values around 500 kb/sec (outgoing/incoming), column 2 has values around 20 kb/sec (transfer rate). If the values in these columns is less than what is expected you may have filtering or blocked ports either on your personal network or from your ISP.
post both results.
also recheck your firewall/antivirus as some will reflag a patched program requiring reauthorization to access the net.
Also make sure you have IE browser set to work online and cleared the IE cache (even if you use a different browser)
ok fixed the problem i must apologize for my ignorance. i forgot i did receive a new windows defender update. once i applied the new rule to allow launcher went threw no problems. sigh
