Well I've been playing this game for a while now and I have to say it just isn't grabbing me... there's something missing.

For starters, I feel there is not enough visual feedback of advancement.

Sure I've upgraded my away armor a few times, but all the suits look disapointingly similar... ditto the weapons... but who would know anyway?

I've only come across one ground-based quest so far that involved other players. I expected more.

Most of the time I spend flying around in the same toy Enterprise I started with. Nine levels later and it's still the same ship. Again, I've upgraded the shields and weapons several times... but who would know?

The last system I entered had 5 toy Enterpises in it... how can you tell which is strongest?... who shoudl tank?... who shoulld dps?... how can you tell when they all look the same? (And there doesn't seem to be a way to compare characters)

In every good RPG the result of advancement should be VISIBLE... not only to the player ... but more importantly, to other playyers.

After nine levels give me something visual... new decals... a rally stripe... bigger engines... a few turrets... heck I'd even take a foxtail like the Jettsons... but give me something!

In a MMORPG one's visual appearance is EVERYTHING.

It sets the pecking-order so one can tell who's stonger than you and who's weaker.

But above all else... the first item of buisness in any MMORPG is BRAGGING RIGHTS!!!! Why else have other people along?

What's the point of finding that 10000:1 whizz-bang-gizmo-torpedo launcher if you can't rub it in everyone else's face that you, and only you, have one? One-upmanship is the whole point of MMORPG!

Would hot-rod flames painted on my tay Enterpise saucer be true to the spirit of Star Trek?... absolutely not!... but would it make far a fun MMORPG?... hell yeah!!!

I have terrible foreboding that striving for realism in ST:O is draining all the fun out of the game.

You get your next ship at lvl 11. Then it's every 10 levels.

This isn't 'fashion world online'. You seem to want to show off your ship and character outfits. To be honest, CO or COH would probably fit you better. They have actual costume contests there. Here, we're just military officers doing missions and saving the universe.

Not every game is for every person. Apparently this one isn't for you. G'luck with the next game you play.
