Will this be another game where exploiters get away with it?

I ask because it's pretty common in MMORPGs: you spot an exploiter. You note the time of the exploit and the name of the character and what he was doing and you report it to a GM and then......the player is still there doing the same thing the next day and the next day and the next day, etc.

It's so common that the exploiters even brag that they won't get banned for cheating. All too often, they're right.

So here's someone bragging as they abuse a team-switching bug in PvP. It makes the game 6v4 instead of 5v5 and apparently grants them double rewards (once for Klingon and once for Fed, I guess).

Every game I see this guy in a match, he's doing this same thing. I don't know what the trick is, but he can do it consistently.

I've reported it and I know others have too. I guess we'll see.

If Cryptic has a chatlog, they can certainly verify the chat text. I noted the time in my GM ticket. And if they're logging match results they can see exactly how often he's on the wrong side.

Bugs hurt games, lack of content hurts games, but nothing kills them faster than exploiters spoiling the game for others. 6v4 as a result of cheating just isn't fun for anyone.

I would edit out your screenshot as naming and shaming is frowned upon on the forums. If indeed he is exploiting I hope the hole is fixed and the exploiter gets a nice holiday.

Youre gonna get a dev edit once they realize you are posting their names in that pic

The mods here are all about protecting people like that, so in answer to your thread title, yes I do believe it will be. Especially as the devs have told us to use the autofire exploit.

Never understood what the point in playing a game is if you have to cheat your way through...oh well hope he gets punished for using it.

The mods don't 'protect' people like this; they protect everyone equally. Innocent until proven guilty and all that; let's face it, photoshopping ain't hard to do. In any case, Cryptic has a policy against discussing player punishment with the player base, so even if they catch and ban this guy they're not going to talk about it. Thus, you'll never know and be left with the impression he was never caught.

There was a game based on Ancient Rome (Forgot the name) that caught someone breaking the rules, so they crucified his character in the main square as a punishment, before perma-banning him. I thought that was a nice touch.
