Some random ideas that may be useful in STO.
1) Training sector to practice using ground weapons/items for away missions. In addition, a space training sector where players can equip different items on their ship and practice using those items against dummy targets. Players will not be able to attack one another within the training sector.
2) I have purchase upgrades for my ship and based on the info listed on the item I purchasedI should have the ability to use that item. When the purchased item is installed in my shipthe item sometimes does not work. Apparently I do not meet some requirement to use the item.
How about a system that bars a player from purchasing any item within the game they cannot use. Perhaps have the items the player is not permitted to use grayed out or a red x through the item to indicate the player cannot purchase/use the item.
3) No idea if this is allowed right now. If not, players should be allowed to build custom UIs for the game and a mechanism should be created to allow customer UIs to be installed.
4) I am certain this has been stated in the past. Leveling within the Klingon faction is very slow and boring. While leveling within the Federation is faster and a bit more interesting.
New players are not going to stay with STO, or at the very least the Klingon faction, unless something is done to make the leveling experience for newbies a tad easier and interesting. This is a new game and the last thing you want to do is frustrate your new player base. Many people want to level fairly quick and get to the end game of STO.
5) The various types of currencies required to purchase items in STO is overly complicated and makes no sense, well to me anyway. What is the harm of selecting a single currency for the entire game ?
6) I am not sure if this option does/does not exist currently within the game. Nevertheless I will ask the question. Would it be possible to create an option that allows players to turn on/off the following
a) All player names <ships and toons> b) Option to turn on names for personal friends, group members, and/or fleet members only.
7) How about placing a red x over areas a player does not qualify to play? Makes it a bit easier to know which areas on the map is open for play based on your level.
