It's following the normal path of just about any other software game prior to it? I think I paid $40 for Wrath of the Lich King expansion when it was released and I bet you can get it for $20 or less now. I guess I don't understand what you're getting at. *shrugs*
Wrath of the Lich King was $39 at release. You can bet it wasn't $29 20 days after it released! Games -- especially with a popular IP like Star Trek -- don't drop $10 in only a few weeks.
Well, after sales tax I guess the $39 would end up around $42...
So now I must ask: what is the magic number of days that must pass before the price can go down? Inform or discuss for us please.
I bought NHL 09 the day it was released for PC by EA Sports and a week or two later it went from $50 to $20. It happens. The world is still revolving as far as I can tell.
I guess my only advice is this: if you feel cheated that the price went down, you have no one else to blame but yourself and your impatience. If you MUST have it NOW NOW NOW, you can suffer to pay more like the rest of the world.
It's a limited time sale that ends the 25th. Learn2read
D2D is the only place that says it's a limited sale. Who cares whether it's a limited sale anyway? That's not the point. I know it's hard... but Learn 2 Think. Why are they having a sale like this the same month people who paid $49 are still playing the intro month? $10 is almost the price of the monthly fee.

Maybe to attract some more customers who might give it a try due to low prices?
Obviously the price was fair and equitable to those who paid it 20 days ago... how all of a sudden it isn't anymore to someone who paid for it already is beyond me. I still don't understand the argument. Perhaps you should have waited for the price to go down instead of getting it on release? Lesson learned perhaps?
Its called a buddy incentive. A very good marketing method is to draw an initial crowd of people. Let them show a friend what they are enjoying. For them to then see the project at a reduced rate for a limited time increases the incentive to buy.
For a MMO box sales typically cover the development cost. Subsciptions sustain it. Hence any method to pull in more people is beneficial.

Maybe everyone's running a deal right now? Still seems a little soon for a deal of this magnitude.
That's how all MMOs work no?
But reading is hard! I didn't even read your post, I just wanted to get it out there!
