Seriously. You guys REALLY need to do something about your rampant SPAM problem.

I'm so sick of seeing:
STO~Gold~100K=5$ blah blah blah

scroll across my screen. Sure, I can ignore it but when there are 30 accounts in the zone spamming, it takes way too much work. It's ruining the experience. Also, clearing my mail inbox each day is tiring.

All popular MMOs will have gold seller spam. The only thing they can do is ban them after you report them.

The spam here is pretty mild compared to games like WoW or Aion. WoW is so bad that the gold famers make signs in the cities out of dead bodies promoting the websites. lol

The only place you will see no spam is in games that are dying. Take AoC. It gets barely any. Maybe 1 a week if that. But not many people play that game.

When you see all the gold sellers go away then you know the game isn't very popular.

First thing I do in every MMO is turn off "Zone" or "Global" chat, not just to avoid this kind of behavior, but also to ignore all of the "How do I turn my ship?" kind of questions.

The gold spam is almost gone for me. It's been replaced by the "tribble" spam in the chat channel.

Tell players to stop getting their accounts TRIBBLE then. Plus those unrestricted buddy keys dont help matters much either.

This is what will increase the number of spammers real soon.

Lol. Good point. Hadn't thought of that, being a Unix geek and all, I barely run windows at all (just started again, just for this game).

Just leave zone channel and only enter back into it when you want to ask something.
That's all you can really do for now.

Anyone think that Cryptic may be behind the goldspammers since it is so rampant?

Yeah it's getting really annoying. I think it is worse than the spammers. Correction it definitely is worse.
