Lifetime sub question

So,

If I were to purchase a lifetime subscription today at $299, would that grant me anything other than the ability to play STO for as long as it remains operational at no addition cost? I didn't purchase the $240 one before launch because there were some very specific things from beta I wanted to observe how they handled them moving forward.

I'm still on the fence ... if I got the other stuff with the lifetime sub, that would be a boost in favor of them getting $300 from me today. I can't find the info anywhere on the site though ... so figured maybe someone could give me a link or a dev would stop by (yeah, right!)

I would say dont go for a lifetime sub at the moment and to wait to see how this game is going to progress.

To answer the original question (novel concept, I know):

The post-release Lifetime Subscription does not offer any bonuses beyond the sub itself. This was confirmed by the developers back when the fact that there would be a post-release LTS was announced. Sorry.

If you enjoy the game and feel certain that you will be playing for the next couple of years, then the lifetime subscription is a good deal. If you are on the fence because you aren't sure how long you will enjoy playing STO then you should stick with a shorter term subscription. I could have saved a lot of money over the last 5 years if I had a lifetime subscription to WoW. But I personally prefer monthly so I'll stick with that for both games.

I would also suggest, before investing your money in a stock, wait and see if it makes alot of money.

I would advise against getting the lifetime subscription. You'd probably end up with a serious case of buyer's remorse and your standards for the game in its current state might be too high. Atleast with the $15/month option you have the option to quit whenever you like and have the freedom to return in months.. even years later. Return when you feel the game is deserving of a subscription.

Well, if you have never played an MMO in the first 3 months, since they are all broken and empty, don't buy lifetime, let alone pay 15 dollars a month on this.
    Wait until summer.
