Epic ground battles

Is it just me or is ever ground battle a epic one, I mean it takes like 5 min somtimes to kill and normal mob, In OB the ground battles were fun and fast paced now its just click click click for 5 min, I wouldent mind easyer to kill mobs but more of them. also spreading them out a little instead of groups of 5 to 8 all time time aswell, I mean dont these guys work or do they just stand around chating all day :)

    and its not that the mobs almost kill me cuz i almost never die, they do almost no dps but only have a ton of hp's

    also dont know about the other classes but am a eng, I can set out all my turrents and shields etc, then afk 10min and come back and my officers have killed everything

    there like 3 epic ground battles period. one random expo encounter and 2 in story missions. the random swordmaster or whatever they call them, can make trash encounters a tad more difficult if your not prepared for them. but most trash mobs are wholly to be pitied cause even my officers could kill them all while i went and had a coffee, might take them 5 10 minutes but they could do it. :P

    there are some good ground story missions however. but generally the individual battles themselves are rather yawn worthy.

    ya i agree but my point is why should it take 5 min to kill one mob even the low lvl ones

    Ground battles do seem to take longer than they should, but I wouldn't call them "epic", just boring.

    try using the expose/exploit mechanic.


    i mean, jeez.. 5 minutes to mop up a group? are you guys just picking guns because they look "cool" or are you actually trying to make use of the games mechanics and increase the chance for expose/exploit so you can put these things down in 60 seconds?

    i would personally suggest equipping Boffs with expose weapons and using two exploit ones yourself, or taking one of each along with you for teaming. DPS is low because the game lets you insta-kill practically everything with this system...

    I use exploit/expose with BO abilities for damage increase + debuff resistance, and it STILL takes 5 minutes per group on average... the mob's HP pool is outragous. What's worse is facing Remans or Klingons, cause not only is it hard to kill them.. they kill you quite easily (this is at Captain 9 by the way).

    my advice on that would be to use a kit that boosts close range combat abilities and use martial arts or even a bat'leth.

    best advice i can give overall for ground combat breaks down into 3 things.

    AoE expose and exploit attacks - split beam exploits will clear 2-3 people at once
    know your enemy - klingons, reman and jem'hadar love to be in your face, be prepared to fight them that way
    versatility is key - keep several kits and weapons to hand, be ready to swap them out to deal with different situations as you come across them.

    or we can nerf them all so we look at them and they fall over?

    no i dont want to nerf them all, just 5min to kill one mobs can get old, if it was a boss etc then np but am talking about normal trash mobs
