In 13 days, most of us non-fanbois will be gone, our subscriptions end and the forums will be all yours.
really

the que lines will be gone

the number of instances will be reduced

lag will be reduced

no more of us complaining

a rather good deal, it is what you all wanted........have fun.

not that the fanbois care, but after the 45 day patch....expect little or no new content though.
as more than half of the subscriptions go away, so does our money. As said though

no biggie, you are content with the game as is.
have fun......am waiting on wow's expansion...might play more DDO while I wait.

also have read Blizzard has been working on a secret 'sci-fi' MMO FPS for over 2 years now.
Hope it is Mechwarrior...doubt it though, can always hope.

OP- while I'm a fanboi too I'm not rejoicing anyone leaving.
I really wanted this to work out for those that hate it.
In the end without everyone this game cannot be the best it can be and I hope Cryptic has listened
to some of there rants, hates, etc.

IT requires a communitiy and that means one with all different opinions.
If were only pleasing ourselves than were asking for failure.

I don't think anyone really wants that for the game.
But I hear where your coming from....I just wouldn't be rejoicing it.

sure, how do you look in a mini skirt?

as for a good portion of the original folks leaving.......done deal, most don't even log
on and some even have gone as far to unload the game.

but enjoy.....maybe the game engine works better with a small player base.

You acctually want them here. The more the better. The more active subscribers the more developers Cryptic can have assanigned to the STO team. That means more content out faster for your game.

If only the lifetimers remain the cashflow stops and Cryptic will be forced to just keep a skeletonteam working on the game and content will be sparse and long between.

As my sig says I don't mind if someone has a problem with a game, any artist needs feedback on both the goods and bads of their work. I may not agree with some of the opinions but they need to be made. That is not what this thread is, this guy is someone looking to insult other players. When he leaves the community will be all the better for it, and people with actual feedback on the game will be heard better.

Have to agree with the first 2 posts.

As more people hit Rear Admiral and they see the fact that there is nothing to do at that rank they will quit for other games. While this means less server load and loading times it also means fleets with no one online, no one to help other players, no pvp. Another thing is with less and less people paying subs then less and less new content will be made as Cryptic are not going to pay for people to make it if they are no making money from it.

Another thing that would help people who are sitting on the fence about the game is the community, ive played a lot of mmo's over the years and this game has by far the worst community ive ever encountered.

if all the whiners disappear in that time, good stuff. as long as they take all the "i quit" folk with them too

bah to your thought on all the "original" people having unloaded the game or left. yeah cause you can prove that...

i wish that of all those leaving, most will come back and try it again soon, but really im not fussed. the majority of players is never on a games forums, so all the quitters whinging here do not represent a majority. i am pretty sure there will be enough regular subs left to keep this game and cryptic happy and growing.

I generally take posts like this with a heavy grain of salt and more than a little skepticism. Most of the time that I play, there are easily 50 instances of Earth Spacedock, and all are nearly full (45-50 people). This is not counting the numerous concurrent instances of 39-S and DS9. Or all the space travel instances, PVP instances and missions on-going. If there are people leaving in droves, I'm just not seeing it. Then again, it's not like I'm paying all that much attention.

Though, as the OP stated, it will indeed be nice to see the more negative portion of the population leave. It will actually make it easier to find out news and information, and the criticism's should increase in constructiveness, as there will be a lower SNR than there is now.

    Yea keep dreaming.

For us who still play the game and have Zone chat turned on, we know that most people are ****ed about how unfinished this game is.

STO will probably be dead within 6 months. They are already dropping prices. (wich is good, this is not a finished product anyway)

Its more 50/50 for all the people complaining how terrible it is and how they are going back to WoW or Eve, there are plenty of people enjoying themselves.

I also find it amusing that people like the OP, seem to have some 6th sense or pre-cognative ability to know exactly what this 45-day patch is going to include. Without quoting a single release note page/patch update page.

They just automatically assume its going to be rubbish cos they already have a negative outlook on what STO is right now... IF YOU DONT LIKE THE GAME.... LEAVE!!!!!!

I started playing with quite a few people i know. (6 others plus me). 2 of them (my brothers) have a lifetime sub.
All of us have been RA5 5-6 days ago.
None of us have logged in to play the last 3 days cause there is simply nothing to do for us. All of us who are on a monthly sub will not pay another month of waiting for something that might keep us busy another 2 days.
And: we are all Star Trek Fans hat have waited anxiously for this game.
So...basically everyone i know will stop playing. And from what i have seen in Zonechat before i decided to log off for good, we will not be the only ones.
if Cryptic doesnt come up with a dramatically good idea, this game will have a playerbase in the same range of Vanguard. And they will all be lifetime subscribers who won't pay.
And i dont write this because im a hater. Im writing this because i was hoping for this game, and because it hurts to see that it just doesnt deliver.

Im in the same spot as you are. Half our Fleet quit and we folded the Fleet when the other half realised there is no death penalty in this game = no point in helping/healing each other.

I have cancelled and so have 90% of the people I know in the game.

Lets be honest neither of us know even close to then number of people who like or dislike it. You can say you see many people talking about how much they dislike it. But there are multiple zones, neither of us can be on at all times of the day in all places in the game. Not to mention the people who do not post in the forums or use the in game public chat.

So in reality we can't say one way or the other a bunch of people are going to quit or stay. We know some will come and some will go but that is about all we can know.

To be honest I doubt we would even notice your gone after all your such a small minority. I believe the majority of people will be staying and all we will lose are the people whose biggest contribution to then game is their overall negativity.

Secondly I expect if Blizzard were working on a sci-fi it would be StarCraft as I believe they own the IP for it.

OP announced he/she was cancelling his/her subscription and leaving two weeks ago. But yet, he/she still feels compelled to log in and start useless, negative threads.

    Surprising? Not really.

OP, sorry to break this to you, but STO is a multi-million dollar investment by a large corporation. Teams of people worked on it for two years. The amount of resources already devoted to it will propel the game's existence for some time to come. Add to that, a subscription base which seems to be three to four times higher than Cryptic even planned for at release.

Your thread is like a post-it note stuffed in a tiny bottle, bobbing in an enormous ocean. Time to move on...

I wish people could see beyond the black and white.

Not everyone leaving hates STO, not everyone staying loves it. What annoys me is the "good riddance" and the converse "enjoy your sh*t game" attitude that plagues this community.

Personally i love the game, KvK pvp is great fun, but in my opinion it's simply not worth a subscription fee at this moment in time as i have already completed all the content it has to offer and don't forsee them introducing enough to keep me interrested for a few months yet.

I'm out in March, but im not gone. Simply waiting for them to decide what STO is going to become, see what content they introduce, what bugs they fix and see how they go. While i do enjoy the game, I'm not of a mind to pay them while they develop it especially as there really is nothing in the game at present for me to do except pvp, which i have already grown somewhat bored of in it's current state.

My main thing is grouping, which to my mind is core to any successful mmo experience for me. I love grouping, but STO really doesn't have any meaningful class roles in pvp or pve, not really, everyone can be perfectly independant and that seems to be what people want. I'm really waiting to see what they do with the skill system as well.

I bought the delux download edition and im happy i did. I'm certain i'll be back when the game develops.

Well, I'm not likely to be staying once my free time has finished, in April for some reason? I've tried, but I can't like the game as it is. I truely hope that the things game gets 'fixed' and that those who stay, fanboy or otherwise, enjoy the game. There's no point in being a **** about it, I don't like the game and some of you do, the world would be a strange place if we all liked exactly the same stuff. Maybe one day I'll be back. And because of that you can't have my stuff....
